PEGGY ERIKSEN HEATH ~ Class of 1981
December 13, 1962 - January 4, 2013
Our dear sister, daughter and mother, Peggy Just Eriksen Heath, was born in Brooklyn, NY, on December 13, 1962 to Norwegian immigrants John Toralf Eriksen and Julie Just Eriksen. She died at age 50 on January 4, 2013 in Kennewick.
Peggy loved the outdoors, especially hiking and camping on Mount Rainier with her family. She loved animals, her cats, and mostly, she loved her only daughter, Selena Heath, of Richland.
Peggy was involved with the Girl Scouts, graduated from Columbia High School in 1981 and then from Columbia Basin College as a nurse (LPN). She had an adventurous spirit, taking flying lessons, skiing, and traveling, including a grand tour of Europe and going back to Norway with her mother to visit relatives, as well as taking trips in the U.S. and Canada.
One of the highlights of her life was attending a dinner honoring King Olav V of Norway with her mother and father when the king visited Seattle. Peggy was a former member of the Sons of Norway.
Besides nursing, she worked at Anthony's Homeport restaurant at Shilshole Bay in Seattle.
She's survived by her daughter, her mother, her brother Glenn Eriksen, her partner Jonathan Bradwin; aunts Lily Zuckert and Lise Salvesen; cousins Hilde and Gunnar Hjertaas, Roald Bygdaos, and Eric Sabo; and her former husband William Heath.
No services are being held. Cremation at Columbia Memorial Chapel in Pasco.
