David was born on July 25, 1965, in Oberlin, KS and died on May 21, 2013, in Stanfield, OR.
The family moved to Richland in 1976 when David was very young. He grew up and graduated from Richland High School in 1984.
He mowed lawns, then went to work for the McDonald Corp. and quickly moved up to a managerial position. From there he took a job in Valentine, NE, managing the Chat-N-Chew Cafe with a partner and friend. From there he went to South Dakota, where David and his friend owned and operated a Grade A dairy, then to Redlands, CA. David in partnership with David Meyers owned and managed the "Elephant Trunk Antiques" at 105 S. Main St., Stanfield, OR for the past 13 years.
David loved gardening, having had for many years a beautiful garden in Stanfield. He was active in the 4th of July committee for 8-10 years and the Stanfield library board for five years. He had love for family and friends. He will be missed and remembered by everyone.
David is survived by his parents Leland & Cheryl Stephens, a sister Corina (Kevin) Maxey, nephews Kalub and Kole.
A memorial Celebration of Life will be June 1st at 11am at Stanfield Baptist Church, 310 E. Wheeler Ave., Stanfield, OR 97875. Dinner will follow the service at the church.
