GY ALAN CAMPBELL ~ Class of 1984
November 16, 1965 - November 2, 2015
~
Gy Campbell passed away on November 2, 2015, at Harborview trauma center in Seattle two weeks short of his 50th birthday.
Gy had many good years growing up in Richland. He participated in a number of sports there: AAU Junior Track and Field, City League Flag Football, and Little League Baseball. He made all stars when he was 12. Gy was also adept at skate boarding and water skiing. Scouting was his life long interest, starting with Y Indian Guides, to Cub Scouts and finally Boy Scouts through troop 237 at Westside church. He participated in monthly campouts done every month and came away from Scouts with his Eagle Scout award and his God and Country award.
Gy also worked at Roy's Western Smorgey and worked at Ferrall's Ice Cream Parlor at the Columbia Center. He spent 4 years in the U.S. Air Force where he met his first wife. They had one son. Gy also had three daughters.
Later in life he went on to get an AA degree and then started taking online classes through WSU with the goal of getting a four year degree.
His health was a concern, and it was the worsening of his conditions that led to his death.
We (his family) miss him greatly, but have the assurance we will all be together again.
