From: Rex HUNT ('53wb) Sandstorm Extra that might be political Re: Political ? Extra To intrude on Frank WHITESIDE's ('63) comments Ignorance plays a huge part of that "free lunch" we see others getting. Just a block from me there is a young lady (28/33 years of age with at least 4 kids, 2 still in diapers. It is evident she is receiving "aid". and you can tell the day she receives her check. She rushes to the store, fills her cart with junk. Sodas, potato chips, candy, frozen dinners, etc. for a week her kids suck up this crap then she is broke and out seeking more assistance. I have seen her many times at the store buying all this junk and not a dime's worth of real food. she will suddenly show up in some flashy garment, cheaply made but real flashy. in a month that is worn out, same for her little daughter Every winter she receives new coats and jackets for her kids donated buy several businesses and service clubs. But if she sees a chance to sell them for a few bucks, her kids will go cold.. I am a member of one of the organizations that come up with donations every year for coats etc. Every year her name comes up again for more coats within several months of the previous donations, requesting aid. I have for the last 3 years voted no. But I am a single vote. so we go on being enablers to feed the growing ignorance. These people may very well need help, but maybe there should be some sort of education to come with each handout. teach these people to get off their butts. Learn how to cook how to stretch their stipend past the candy counter. Ignorance the great creator of poverty. -Rex HUNT ('53wb) ~ cold foggy Hanford, CA with a fire in the fire place) ****************************************************************
