Y2K poem by Kelly Weil Austin (81)

The year two-thousand is upon us, not just a dream, you say?
Like every year, we wonder if it will bring Jesus’ day.
It isn’t just another year, nor another century here,
The beginning of a new millenium, why do we have such fear?
Did not Jesus promise that he’d be with us till the end of the age?
By claiming His promise we should not fail to turn another page.

It will take a whole lot more than just a “bug” to usher in,
Armageddon and His Rapture are in God’s plan to put an end to sin.
In the meantime, the Bible says we should continue to live our lives
Spreading the gospel, God’s Good News and that Jesus is alive

So stay on track,
don’t distract,
God will tell us when it is time,
Until then, serve Him with all your heart, and soul and mind.
For when you hear Gabriel’s trumpet sound,
‘tis only then we’ll be heaven bound.
