Re: Doc 40 and Kat

    Well, I didn't get a Sandstorm for 8/8, which is a good
thing since Saturday nite I was too lazy or too tired or too
something to wish two of my favorite people a HAPPY WEDDING
ANNIVERSARY... I felt awful all day Sunday and then forgot
to call them too! These two have been friends for a good
long while... 'course I've told the story before of meeting
Jimmie ('66) when we were 15 years old and trading cars... I
met Kathie ('69) thru Jimmie and naturally she's the best...
she puts up with all of us so she's gotta be the best...
these two are also responsible for getting me back into hot
rods... If it weren't for Jimmie's '40 Ford that he has had
since we were in high school and Kathie's '40 Ford Pickup
that Jimmie built, I might not be back into the game. I
hadn't had anything since around '75 when my daughter was
born and I went out and bought a grown up car... sold my '47
pickup with the big Rocket 88 in it... and settled down into
the Pinto crowd... about 10+ years ago I was at the Adairs'
and marveling at Doc's shop and decided it was time to get
back into the game... been going full blast ever since... A
buddy of mine and I have started a little shop here in Vegas
called "Eastside Rod and Custom" Here is one of our decals
for you decal collectors...

    Eastside Rod and Custom

Also here is a shot of some of the boys, including our own
Jimmy Heidlebaugh ('65), having a conversation and comparing
IQs at the shop...

    comparing IQs

The Grand Nationals I've been talking to a guy who has had
Las Vegas Hot Rods for the past 25 years or more... he sold
the biz and has not liked being "retired" so over the last
month or so we have bought a large shop in Logendale, NV
from which we will run "L. V. Roadsters"... see the line
drawing for the logo

    L. V. Roadsters

The Roadster shop will be finished cars and rolling chassis...
Eastside is more of a work on people's cars shop... So this
I owe to my dear friends... Doc and Kat... taking me back to
the love of good old hot rodding... Course Doc is now into
Hondas or Ducatis or something... I think it was all that
time he spent with Stull ('63) when they were building the
Bomb from the Alumni... so now... instead of Doc 40, he's
just "Scooter-boy"... in Dockers no less... So Sorry to be
late, you two, but I love you just the same!
