I don't know but here all along I thought that Bomber Spirit was sort
of an indelible connection and camaraderie we shared since we all
experienced "Atomic City" in much the same way.
It was a quirky place with an imported culture far out of step with
the rest of the Columbia Basin and we all survived it.
No really... Bomber Spirit is the way you see the Mascot for the High
School as either an anachronistic symbol for vaporized humans or the
greatest achievement of the war that spared gobs more than it ruined.
Fer or agin ? and we're taking names. Why wouldn't you just support the
School and it's activities no matter what its mascot?
It's sad because whatever your beliefs - it's only the way you act
that really matters to others and having strong beliefs in no way
excuses rude, callous or just being plain not-nice.
What's with name calling in this country and why has it drifted into
our Sandstorm? People who equate criticism and disagreement with
"hate" must be fun to live with at home. Aren't we suppose to drop that
nonsense in Kindergarten?
Allegiance to a dogma - any dogma will lead you to trouble because
eventually you will have to act contrary to your rigid beliefs and
blow your purity. You could laugh it off as a human imperfection if it
wasn't so harmful to our society. Worse than any hypocrite is the
spinner who will justify immorality and negligence to others by
smearing the people that express distain towards those actions and
their excuses.
