Re: Otis at Sheeran's Thanksgiving - Circa 1960
 http://AlumniSandstorm.com/htm2010/Xtra/Any/100111-She-Otis.jpg

Thank you for the wonderful pic of the Sheeran family. However,
where was Sally ('58) and Peg? I suppose you took the pic. Wasn't
there a Colleen ('56) also? Almost all were looking at the Camera
except Katie ('61) who was doing her favorite thing... eating. It
was just like Clem (RIP) and Helen (RIP) to invite a nice guy
like Otis into their home. It brought many memories back, and an
ache to see Pat ('48-RIP). I knew Otis very well... after I got
out of the Army, I would stop by and get a shine most times when
I had my haircut.

I knew Clem pretty well, but then most did. I was at your house
several times and I remember a bunch of girls running about.
Seeing Helen again reminds me why all you girls are so good
looking.

It brought an ache to see Pat again. I recall him bumming a ride
from Seattle to Richland, as did Dick Sears ('47-RIP), to the '87
reunion. The two of them sipped grog and told tall tales in the
back seat. It was a fun trip. I saw him again at the 1991 Club
40, and he was very frail and weak. Dale GIER ('48) and I kept an
eye on him thru the weekend. After that, I never saw him again.

That looks like the old water tower that was on the corner of
Thayer and Torbett (I think). Can't remember when they took it
down.

Re: Caring Bridge Site for my sister Marilyn SWAN Beddo ('63)

I passed the information on the Caring Bridge Website on to my
niece, Tracy. She has set up a site there for Marilyn in which
she will post entries for her Journal. And, there are pictures
and a Guestbook, in which one may sign in and leave a message for
Marilyn and family. The link to access Marilyn's Site with
Caring Bridge is:

  http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/marilynbeddo

If the public listing of the link to Marilyn's site is taboo for
Sandstorm, email me and I will provide the link for her site.

One can visit her site in this way, or one can register and then
receive the updates, as Tracy posts them. And, while there, one
can visit the guest book and pictures. Marilyn's progress in
recovery is not going quite as well as the doctors had predicted,
so she may be in the recovery and therapy process for a while.
Prayers are appreciated. We are not an overtly religious family,
however we are a patriotic family, and we highly believe in the
phrase, "Under God!"

Re: Sorenson Pic #024

I am pretty sure that this water tower is on Thayer just past
Riche Court. I used to live on Riche court and we used to walk by
a water tower on our way To Chief Jo. I don't recall the name of
the cross street. [see today's entry from Maren SMYTH ('63 & '64)].

Keep sending those pictures. I think they are great.

That picture was taken at the corner of Thayer and Torbett
looking west... I climbed that water tower once - and that was
enough.

See the water tower (third picture from the top):
  http://allgallery.tripod.com/0000s/RichlandRes.html

The water tower can also be seen in this picture:
  http://alumnisandstorm.com/htm2010/Xtra/Any/100113-P-3484.jpg

This picture was taken 6/22/44... I've spent so much time looking
at this picture... north of Williams and east of Thayer looks
like all the homes have grass.. south of Williams and west of
Thayer is a different story. Looks to me like they were working
on doing the foundations for "B" houses and some "A" houses...
guess the others came later. I can see the foundation isn't even
there for the house I was raised in at 1205 Perkins... the only
"B" house on that block has the foundation, though... you can see
the foundation for McClellan's "B" house on the corner of Perkins
and Roberdeau... and I can see the foundation for the Garrison
home on Roberdeau... looks like the first 2-1/2 blocks west of
Sacy has completed homes, but keep moving west and there are only
foundations... you can see the gas station on the corner of
Perkins & Williams... Pennywise and the grocery store aren't
there yet... all the "A" house foundations in Gunnison Court are
there... can ya tell where Rochefontaine will eventually be?

Bomber cheers,,

Kip Forrest GRAHAM, whose birth date is July 15, 1988, passed
away January 8, 2010, as the result of injuries sustained from a
tragic accident with a gun. Do any of you know if he was an RHS

Otter! Great to hear from you. Coach Lynn McNeal was the guy
we couldn't remember of the four American League coaches. The
response to this question was tremendous. Actually got the name
of several coaches, including Scott Denler's dad.

Good to see old Bombers remember the important stuff!

John SULLIVAN (’72) came all the way from Portland, Oregon to
visit me in the balmy winter sun belt of Alabama. Got to see the
Crimson Tide roll over the Horns for National Title #13 (albeit
on a bar big screen) the night of a paralyzing blizzard in
Huntsville (0.4” of snow officially). Temps never climbed higher
than 25° the entire weekend, although that didn't stop us from
hiking around a bit.
