Thank you. I've never heard the term "creeper" before. I am a
widow and live a very sheltered life... haven't been in a watering
hole in nearly 40 years!

To: David RIVERS ('65)

I certainly didn't expect "Tooter' to stick. My Daddy would be
proud!

Re: 50-Year Class Reunion

I have taken way too long to send t his entry. The Monday after
our 50-year class reunion, we took off in our RV for the Oregon
coast, a place we love to be. After 3 weeks, we started for home,
stopping along the way to see friends in Albany, OR and my
friend/sister Dena EVANS Harr ('64) in The Dalles, OR. When we got
home, all the stuff we didn't get done before we left was waiting
for us. Dang! Couldn't it have cleaned itself up?! But I digress.

The purpose of this entry is to thank everyone involved in putting
together our 50-year reunion, including those from another class
who came to help us with registration. (We should return the favor
at their next reunion!).

Now I don't have a lot of memories from my school daze
(misspelling intended), but I have some really good
friends/sisters from our class. We are always in contact with one
another, so the reunions haven't meant that much to me.

Having said that, I have to admit that this reunion was much
different for me. I had more fun this time than all the reunions I
have attended before. (And to think that I almost didn't come, as
I had wanted to get to the Oregon coast sooner.) I don't know for
sure why this one was so much better for me than the others,
except maybe I have exorcised all my past demons and am a very
happy person, enjoying life immensely. I have to give Jesus credit
for that. He took me, demons and all, and changed me into the
person I am today. No, Deedee didn't cease to be, nor did the
demons disappear, but I don't listen to them anymore, and I am the
Deedee I actually want to be. God is good. Life is good.

I do hope my fellow Bomber Alumni Sandstorm readers will not take
this as Bible thumping. I don't mean it to be that. I'm just happy
in my relationship with Jesus.

Thanks for listening (reading).

BTW, I go by my given name now, Mercedes.
