We have received so many positive responses and can't wait until we meet again. Been thinking and talking of having a "80 year old" birthday party in 2016, so keep your eyes and ears open for some details. Thanks, Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54) for bringing it up again. It was so hard to get hold of ALL of our classmates, and it didn't happen, but always good to hear from them, even "after the fact"!! Heard from Gary BRONS ('54), who lives in Kennewick and missed all of our notices, so was not included. I took a picture, booklet, pen and copy of 1954 Sandstorm to him yesterday and he was so happy! Thanks, Shirley STREGE Bigelow ('54), for getting that call from him and passing it on! Even when you say, "60 Year class reunion", it sounds like a long time ago, but I really don't feel that much older!! Hahaha. Enjoy the picture. -Marilynn WORKING Highstreet ('54) ~ Pasco where it is 80° today before the downswing of cooler weather!! **************************************************************** **************************************************************** >>From: Tommy HEMPHILL ('62) Re: Portland / Vancouver Area Bomber Lunch PLEASE JOIN US!!! It was a real shocker to hear of George's passing, he and his volumes of info will be very much missed. We were proud to call George and Peg close friends. I believe that he told me that he had 3 or 4 college degrees and could tell us about almost everything especially about the Tucson area. To Peg and George's family we are sorry to see him go and the world and Bomberville will also miss him. -Roy and Nancy -Roy BALLARD ('63) ~ Richland **************************************************************** **************************************************************** >>From: Maren SMYTH ('63 & '64) Re: '64 in '14 - 50 year Reunion Stuff Everyone will notice in this edition of the Sandstorm that Class of '54 has submitted their group picture to the Sandstorm. '64's 50 year reunion was a full month BEFORE '54's 60 year reunion yet '64 has not yet received our group picture.. AND there was a DVD made that SEVERAL people have ordered and not yet received. At least one wants to know if anyone who ordered/paid for the DVD got scammed/burned? SO, WHAT'S THE DEAL??? WHERE'S OUR STUFF??? -Maren SMYTH ('63 & '64) ` Gretna, LA **************************************************************** **************************************************************** >>From: Bob MATTSON ('64) Re: Lost Had a great time at the reunion ['64 in '14 - 50 Years Later] and I believe everyone did as well. But. Crossed over the mighty Columbia and followed a familiar road towards the old Desert Inn. Why was it that I ended up behind Badger Mountain? I found myself on what seemed to be the outskirts of West Richland, I figured. There was nothing to recognize. How could I be lost in West Richland! I was half way over the Yakima River Bridge before I noticed the water below. I looked for Ray's horse barn as I drove by. There was a hint of it left. Just a taste of old times crept in. The next morning, after finding coffee, I took a drive. First north, where we shot our bb guns and picked asparagus. Streets, houses and lawns. West, I went behind Ray's riding academy and found a golf course. But, Zip's will always be Zip's, I'm convinced, a true anchor holding memories of Friday nights, Pepsi and a Zip's special, driving around and around as on the uptown carousel. That will help me cope with getting lost in West Richland. -Bob "Tuna" MATTSON 64 **************************************************************** **************************************************************** That's it for today.
