>>From: Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54)

It is time for another Bomber Birthday celebration. I actually
knew the guy back in the day and remember an occasion or two of
helping Jerry SWAIN ('54) shuck shrimp at the Fission Chips joint.
For some reason or other seems I knew a lot of band people back
then. A well deserved tip of the ol' propeller beanie is in order
for Jerry PURKHISER ('54), to be followed by a hearty "Happy
Birthday!" cheer by one and all.

To: Jeanette DUNCAN ('54):

Just hope your current husband is fully contrite and humble for
causing all the trouble. Please get well soon.

toward a dry day or two.

Re: '60 in '15 ~ 55 Year Class Reunion

We are just now getting organized for our 55 year class reunion.
I have agreed to be chairperson, and plans are underway, with a
little help from your friends. It will be held in conjunction with
Club 40's Annual Event September 11th and 12th, 2015, at the Red
Lion Hotel in Richland... so mark your calendars! Details and
registration forms will be included in the Spring edition of the
Club40 DustStorm.

Our first official planning meeting was held Friday, October 17,
2014. Our energy and efforts will be directed to the Friday night
reception, Saturday afternoon gathering at the Richland Community
Center and the Saturday evening dinner program. Our Class does not
have an existing treasury. We will be using the Alumni Sandstorm
and the Club40 DustStorm as our primary communications and
contact resources. We are counting on you to update your contact
information in the Club 40 database. (Club40 database manager is
Ann Thompson, aka Anna May WANN ('49) at ann.thompson1@comcast.net

Please contact me with information regarding alumni who are not in
the Club 40 database or in our list from the 2010 50 year reunion.
Comments, recommendations and questions regarding this event can
be sent my way, too. We are looking forward to a great weekend!

Re: The Big Nine

To: Irene WALDNER Russell ('69)

Pretty sure the ninth member of the Big Nine was Ellensburg. I
remember the Bombers beating them in the playoffs in Spokane one
year (this was before the District playoff setup) 103-59.

To goodness

and wisdom we make only promises; but pain we obey! Darn did that
come back to me yesterday! I started getting severe migraines when
I was about 26 or so... figured "It was the BIG one, Lizabeth!!!",
first one I ever had... and I've been lucky the last few years to
only get the flickering lights... then gone... no numbness, no
nausea, no loss of speech, no metallic taste, no pain... then
yesterday, out of the blue... Dang... called the Doc this morning
for some a the ol' magic spray I used to carry all the time...
heading for the Hot Rod Reunion early tomorry so wanted to pick it
up... when I got to the Pharmacy, she looked so sad and said
"David, we had to order it... "arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh... I managed to
scrounge two from here and there for the trip, but I don't think
I'll take it fer granted I'm "cured" any more... I completely
forgot how tense they make you for a few days waiting for the
"return"... so I'm sure you needed to hear that just as much as I
needed to say it... .but one thing fer sher, I was shore proud of
Ann BISHOP's ('56) response to the Senior Marine question the
other day... Bomber Babes Rule!!!!!!!!!!!!... no matter how long
my skinny lil' bod remains on this here earth, I shall remain
"boot" to Ann regardless of rank... as has been said before (with
far less tact as I've often heard it)... she's got more time in
the chow line that I'll ever have in the Corps... and so it goes
thorough out time... just as one a the b-day kids today is senior
to me, so is one junior... because of my lil' trip to Bakersfield
I am combining them and hers will be early, which DOES mean I
always bow to Bomber-babes... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Dave HANTHORN ('63)
and to Lyne-Marie HATCHER ('68) on your special days, October 16
and 18, 2014!!!!

Re: conference

To: Irene WALDNER Russell ('69)

Irene-

When we were in school it was the Big 8... didn't become the Big 9
until Kamiakan joined. You have all the teams listed correctly.
Believe me I attended all home games and some road ones, too.

To: Irene WALDNER Russell ('69)

Irene, you got all the schools, but it was the Big 8... that's
where your mind is playing the trick. You're remembering the wrong
conference name... it did become the Big 9 when Kamiakin came in
'72.
