Re: Football

This is football day... each Saturday Maren lists key games for
the day and always includes her LSU Tigers. Yes they are always
good. Today she will list them playing my Arkansas Razorbacks,
here in Fayetteville, AR. Another tough game for the HOGS. We are
4 and 5 for the year, all 5 losses are to conference opponents
(all 5 losses were to teams that were ranked in the top 10 in the
nation). The HOGS have lost 15 straight conference SEC games. The
interesting part of this game is LSU is ranked, 7-3 for the
season, yet the betting line is HOGS favored by 2 points. Should
be interesting. I do not think I would put money on the 2 points.

The cold arctic front is upon us, forecast at game time is 20°
with snow or sleet. I will miss my first game in a very long
time... at my age I do not need to be out in that kind of
weather. I sold my tickets and will watch it on TV. Go HOGS! Go
easy on us, Maren.

Far be it from me to pick on the Junior Gyrene (lol), but his
latest "fox pass" cannot be ignored. In yesterday's issue he
dutifully acknowledged the birthday of a Bomber Babe of his
acquaintance. That was really nice of him. But, he made her a
whole month older than she really is. Not a "smooth move" for one
who tries to be so "swave and deboner". Come on, man! Get it
straight, this is November not October.

-Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54) ~ Mount Angel, OR where we
dodged the winter weather the weather guessers were
predicting. Oh, it got cold, but no ice or snow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHN... and many more

Re: I found out that Jon BLACK's ('61) birthday is the 14th of
February. It was on face book.

[Added Jon to the Bomber Birthday calendar. Thanks,
      Roger. -Maren]

Happy Birthday to another of the Really Good Guys. Not only is he
half of the Don & John Show, but he's saved me and Mother Earth
countless gallons of gasoline along with a plethora of hours
sitting dead still on 405 by attending and sending photographs of
every summer car show on the calendar. Not just the big ones, but
Super Market openings too. Me thinks the battery in his watch is
only about half power, because he has a lot more hours in his day
that I do.

Buon Compleanno (some of the Rosetta Stone Italian is sticking)
to John Cameron CAMPBELL ('63). We hope to see you Don and your
much better halves at the GMC63MCCS Christmas Gala in Olympia on
December 6th.

Healing prayers on their way to you. I am a 5-year breast cancer
survivor, and am grateful for each day I get to enjoy this
beautiful earth. I pray for you to get the time you want to
"finish your purpose." God bless…

Re: small world

Well one of our b-day kids should have arrived in Fabulous Las
Vegas (not to be confused with the Fabulous Wailers) today, on
the day before the blessed occasion of his birth SEVENTY years
ago... yes, the Blue Medal Class is turning SEVEN OH this year...
kinda staggering for me... I have no problems with kids who were
in Col-Hi before I got there turning 70, but man it does touch
home when the kids who were seniors when you were a baby-Bomber
reach that age... I sure hope he behaves hisself cuz I ain't
never done no crimmumal law... I told him I had a class today,
which turned up a friend whose daughter works for a nuther Bomber
from my class in the Bay area... Allan STREGE ('65)... what a
small world... the guy in the class with me had even heard of the
Sandstorm... now that's pretty amazing if ya ask me... we are the
Bombers.. mighty mighty Bombers.. People are always amazed at our
network... funny the other day the guy visiting Vegas, suggested
I might have a line on alla cheap but elegant buffets in Vegas...
when I came here I coulda given him a line on just about
everything... though I've never been much of a strip goer (tho I
did live at the International Lounge for years every weekend...
back inna day) and since this town has grown to over 2 million,
I go out even less... ... but he's got my number so maybe lunch
will be in order... The other birthday guy has been to Vegas
before and I think I even gave him my last Bomber car plaque if
I remember correctly (and if I didn't forget I mentioned it at
all)... I call this guy every year on this birthday, but am
thinking I missed last year... I'll try and do better this
year... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, John CAMPBELL ('63) and Mick HEMPHILL
('66) on your special day, November 15, 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
