There must be something that strikes the fancy of Bombers. Snow in Buffalo? How come Ducks rank so high in the polls? Does the Junior Gyrene suffer from foot in mouth disease? I mean, come on, I don't really want to revisit the Carmichael swimming pool controversy again. Put your writing caps on and make some entries. We could all do with another McCoy tale of the "old west". -Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54) ~ Mount Angel, OR where the weather is sorta back to normal, rain in the valley and snow in the mountains. **************************************************************** **************************************************************** >>From: David RIVERS ('65) Re: Saturday in the park I think it was the forth of July... well, actually, I KNOW it was the 4th of July... but first, lemme say I hadda great lunch with Tom ('62) and Linda HEMPHILL yesterday at the old Hilton (FKA International Hotel and Casino) yesterday. We had gormet (French for yummy) burgers and I must say they were about as french as french fries... but waaaaaaaaaaaaaay good... we had so much to discuss, I am kind of surprised we had time to eat... what a wonderful time... I had to leave because I had a 20+ year old Yucca to dig outa the back yard... Its daggers have become a problem for the cats so the guy who does the yard was supposed to take it out... instead he took out a bird of paradise one of the cats loves to lay under and trimmed the yucca back... arrrrgh so I hadda get some work done before the quick night falls we have now... me n my big ideas... this morning I was back at it... because it sits so low to the ground I couldn't get a saw in there at a good angle... so I hadda do it the ol fashioned way with a pick... it is now moving back and forth so just a little more digging all bent over to get at it and... and well I'll wait and see... so back to the 4th of July... now that may seem a silly subject for a November b-day, but for the B-day Bomber-babe it was prolly one of the luckiest days of her life... ya see, yers truly has never been the brightest kid onna block... Rick NEILL ('61) went to Ideeho to get hitched when he got married and so I figgered the b-day babe and I would too... we, along with Jack KEENEY ('65) headed off to Ideeho for the occasion... Naturally, everything was closed and the whole town was at the lake... to make it a very memorable day I left my wallet in the gas station bath room where I changed clothes... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh the best laid plans and all that... HAPPY BIRTHDAY Nancy MIDDLETON ('67) on your special day, November 24, 2014!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -David RIVERS ('65) **************************************************************** **************************************************************** Bomber Memorial >>Rod BIGGERSTAFF ~ Class of 1953 ~ 1934 - 2014 Bomber Memorials **************************************************************** **************************************************************** That's it for today.
