Boy did I blow it! Didn't look at my sources right. There were
three (count 'em 3) Bomber birthdays yesterday [3/6] that I
should have noted. Guess the rush into March took my mind off
it; either that or the fact that I have to mow the lawn.

At any rate, here's a belated tip of the ol' propeller beanie and
a hearty "Happy Birthday!" for two Bomber Babes and a guy from
The Class of '54: Diane and Sue HALE and Ray WELLS. Sorry to be
late guys.

       at getting there.

Richland Bombers - 59 ..... Kentwood Conquerors - 73

Very disappointing as the Bombers are eliminated from the State
Tournament with two straight losses. I have no comments about
this game because I did not see it.

Re: RHS vs Kentwood State Basketball Tournament

It sounded like it was going to be a good game with Richland
leading 14 to 1 at the end of the 1st quarter. Unfortunately
they were not able to maintain that lead and were eliminated
from the tournament after losing 73 to 59.

-Shirley COLLINGS Haskins ('66) ~ Richland where we are
enjoying 60° weather in the daytime. Remember to spring
      forward Sunday morning.

Hello, Maren. Thank you for all you've done over the years with
keeping the Sandstorm going. I'm sure it's a labor of love for
you, but I hope know how many alumni appreciate your efforts, day
after day after day.

With that said, I think it's finally time for me to cancel my
subscription. I've hung on many years longer than I thought I
would and with VERY few postings by anyone graduating after 1972,
I simply can't relate to most of the memories shared by alumni
from the '50s and '60s. In fact, there are probably more obituary
notices from people around my class than postings, so I've gotten
to the point where I'm only opening the Sandstorm to see if
anyone around my class year passed away (sad truth) or see how
the sports teams are doing. As someone mentioned a few weeks ago,
my generation and younger is keeping in touch using more social
media options, like Facebook.

If there is one thing I've always admired about the Sandstorm
contributors, it's the amazing school spirit my fellow alumni
have and how proud that makes me to be a Bomber.

I should be paid up through December. Please keep that payment
as a donation.

Thanks again for keeping it going. Take care,

-Gary SCHAUER ('84)
