I was indeed raised very Roman Catholic. Who knows what my real
ethnic background is? That's what I meant about the Spanish
ancestors maybe being "conversos". Those were the Jews in 1492
who were forced to convert when Ferdinand and Isabella kicked
all the others out of Spain.

Re: 2015 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race
  http://www.iditarod.com/ - Official Iditarod Site

78 teams (mushers and sleds) with 16 dogs/team = 178 dogs!!!
25 women mushers.
20 Rookies
58 veterans (includes 6 past Champions)

They hadda truck snow i for the ceremonial start in Anchorage,
but all teams left Anchorage on schedule. They will be in the
same order for the official reSTART when they depart Fairbanks
tomorrow (3/9).

I heard MANY mushers today saying that they are excited to see
the NEW trail out of Fairbanks.

17 check points - each with a veterinarian to check EVERY dog.

How far will Martin Buser go before his first real rest?

I'm watching:
03 Buser, Martin CHAMP/Bib #04 - 4 time champ
10 Berrington, Kristy vet/Bib #11
12 Lanier, Jim vet/Bib #13 - more than 1 have won wearing #13
17 Seavey, Mitch CHAMP/Bib #18 - 2 time champ - 55 years old
19 Janssen, Scott vet/Bib #20 - Mshing Mortitian
26 Fiedler, Linwood vet/Bib #27
27 Gebhart, Paul vet/Bib #28
28 Jonrowe, DeeDee vet/Bib #29
29 Mackey, Lance CHAMP/Bib #30 - 4-in-a-row Champ
32 Buser, Rohn vet/Bib #31
31 Zirkle, Aliy vet/Bib #32 - 2nd in '14, '13, & '12
38 Berrington, Anna vet/Bib #39
45 Seavey, Dallas CHAMP/Bib #46 - 2 time champ
56 Moore, Allen vet/Bib #57
58 King, Jeff CHAMP/Bib #59 - 4 time champ
59 Burmeister, Aaron vet/Bib #60 - running w/knee brace
71 Mackey, Jason vet/Bib #72

I wonder - where is 5-time Champ Rick Swenson, Jake Berkowitz,
the two Smyth brothers (Cim and Raymie), and Jamaican Newton
Marshall (saw him at the starting line w/several teams in 2015),

Re: Dear hearts and gentile people

I love those dear hearts and gentle people, who live in my home
town... korse I also love Rock n Roll Music, Bomber-babes and
Hot rods...guess one a them is kinda redundant but Bomber-babes
always rule... today we gots a couple a them kids from my home
town... this is kind of an interesting day as the dude shares
his class status with the Bomber b-day babe and the Tooter...
now ya gotta be pretty darned crafty to pull off an act like
that but this long time buddy a mine did just that... come to
think of it... he was a Senior when his better half was a
Sophomore ('69)... looks like Jimbeaux's ('63) trolling classes
paid off... I have always wondered why I never knew him before
that fateful day we met at my house back when... simple
Answer... he didn't live in Richland before that... He rolled up
in a black '46 Chevy with that jet black hair with the Buddy
Holly curl and a cute babe by his side... I figured him to be
about 22 or so... he was checkin' out the green '46/'47 Ford I
had parked in the driveway (good reason it was parked... frozed
engine AND I was 15)... I wasn't gonna let this used ta be teen-
ager get the best of me but he did look kinda intimidating... he
also seemed to know what he was talking about and I was dumber
than dirt... we each kicked the tires of the "piece a crap" the
other guy had and soon a deal was closed with a hand shake... I
got me a runnin' Chebby (with forward gears only) and he got a
froze up Ford... we parted knowing that we both snookered the
other... from that day to the present ain't been nuthin' in this
world come between us 'cept miles... we finish every phone
conversation with "love you" it's just that way... we've had
some fun times over the years... eaten every brand of Strawberry
pie in Orange County... almost got 'rested in Hollywood when he
decided to re-enact our times in Vietnam... (thankfully he
didn't run over any land mines this time)... One a his boys
('08) managed to get Terry DAVIS ('65) on a rollie coaster for
the very first time... he's baby sat cars for me in Richland and
we've had some good times in Vegas... we even relive the first
day we met... right now he's toolin' the Uptown in a little
custom Ford he talked me outa... something like 100 major mods
on that car... I grabbed George Barris at a show one time and
told him I hadda surprise for him... he started combin' his hair
and I hadda tell him "not that kind George"... I showed the car
to George and he gasped "The San Antonio Rose... ya know I took
the pictures of that car for a magazine back in 1958... " I
showed him the mag and said "ya mean these pix?"... I'm always
glad when his b-day comes around so I can brag on my pal... one
a the best guys I've ever known... now the babe ain't no slouch
herself... she was best friends with my sweetie my Sr year...
and I always enjoy seeing her when we are both in town at the
same time... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Jimmie ADAIR ('65-'67) and Susan
SHEPARD ('67) on your special day, March 8, 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!
