Re: Smoking

I was a horrific smoker... got up to 3 packs a day and loved every
one of them.

In February 1978, I had just returned from taking my 12 year old
daughter and 2 of her friends to Disneyland. As we arrived at the
home of one of the girls, she got out and told me thank you. She
said "Mr. Hunt, I would kiss you, but you smell like an ashtray." I
quit smoking that instant. I had a pack in my pocket and a carton
in the cupboard. I found that you only have to quit for a few
seconds at a time. As the urge to smoke only lasts a few seconds
then it passes. Of course it returned shortly but then you just
resist for a that few seconds and it carries you to the next time.
After 24 hours the length between urges grows. I know I am as
hooked to cigarettes today as I was that day. Just like an
alcoholic, you are always a smoker you just don't smoke... and now
after 37 years I still have an occasional urge. And the whiff of a
good cigar is always tantalizing.

can get clogged with heifer dust so that a raunchy cigar
      would seem a relief.

Re: 100-year-old Richland woman still driving ~ 3/13/15 Tri-City Herald

Many of you might remember Clarice Glenn, retired Richland School Teacher.

"She taught at Jefferson, Spalding, Sacajawea and Lewis
and Clark elementary schools -- retiring in 1978."

"She is one of 197 people 100 or older to have an
active driver's license in Washington, according to the
state Department of Licensing. That includes an
uncertain number of licenses issued to people who are
no longer driving (or possibly not even alive) because
they have military licenses with no expiration date."
