Do we bake one cake or two? Being twins, and no longer living together in the same town, let alone the same house, how does one handle this? Then, there is the question of who gets the first slice; do we go birth order; alphabetical order or gender order? Awfully confusing, the protocol of celebrating twin births. Not even sure if they were born on the same day; which further confounds the issue. After stumbling and bumbling through all of that, I will now give a double tip of the ol' propeller beanie to two fellow class persons (listed in order of appearance in the '54 Columbian) Bill and Judy ALLEN of The Class of '54. "Happy Birthday!" -Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54) ~ Mount Angel, OR where weather guessers are bewailing the low snow pack in the mountains. **************************************************************** **************************************************************** >>From: Frank DeVINCENTIS ('56wb) I can't agree more with Tom HUGHES ('56) on the song, "The Dance". Now that I'm a senior, senior citizen and I look back on my life, the song rings so true.k -Frank DeVINCENTIS ('56wb) **************************************************************** **************************************************************** >>From: Helen CROSS Kirk ('62) To: Tom HUGHES ('56 - my former Olympia St. neighbor) I would have never guessed you would have written in all the words to "The Dance" explaining your take on life, but I felt there is a lot of truth to that philosophy when I've heard that song, too. My classmate Pete BEAULIEU ('62) also used Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken" which also has a lot to say about how we make life choices, And someone else wrote in about "chances" in life making their decisions. I'd add prayer to these thoughts, but also the fact that I didn't realize the depth or effect of some decisions I was making at the time; like when we left California in 1974, I had no idea that we would never get back to the "west" to live except for 5 short years, because of other choices we would make; but life turned out to be making the most dealing with the choices and the results of these choices. -Helen CROSS Kirk ('62) ~ enjoying being out "West" at the moment in Gardnerville, NV where I am waiting for my 2nd grandson to be born, and today we will celebrate the 11th birthday of my first and only grandson!! **************************************************************** **************************************************************** >>From: Kathy RATHVON ('63) Re: Restaurants I will be in the Tri-Cities for a convention May 29, 30, & 31. We will be staying at the Red Lion in Pasco. Does anyone have recommendations for a restaurant for dinner on Friday night? Thanks for the help. -Kathy RATHVON ('63) ~ from mostly cloudy Bellevue, but the sun is trying to break through **************************************************************** **************************************************************** >>From: Shirley COLLINGS Haskins ('66) Re: Fundraiser for RHS Baseball Donations will go towards helping build a new field as well as travel costs, new equipment and uniforms.
