Re: cataracts

I, too, am going in for cataract surgery ~~ on May 13th. First
eye and second to be done later. Along with you, I am a tad
nervous. Have retinal thinning and macular degeneration also.
Too bad we don't live close, maybe they would let us hold
hands, across two tables, for comfort!!! Best wishes to you and
Bomber prayers!

Trust Cinco de Mayo was not overdone; particularly in those
regions where such traditions are not known until very
recently. One tradition of this date that was not followed, and
I apologise for not doing it myself; and that would be wishing
Patti COLE ('52) a "Happy Birthday!" [on 5/5] Please accept
these belated greetings.

There is a Bomber Babe who celebrates such an occasion on
this day. She is a fellow classmate; and I don't recall if we
"interfaced" back in the day. I kinda think me might have,
but that was then. Didn't get a chance to talk to her at the
combined Club 40 Annual Meeting and The Class of '54's 60 year
reunion. Sorry about that.

So, I will now tip the ol' propeller beanie in honor of this
joyous occasion and wish Barbara KRAMER ('54) a "Happy
Birthday!"

Re: Boo Boo

Ok I did it again, forgot to send Patti's ('52) entry
yesterday. I didn't forget your birthday [on 5/5], just forgot
the "Public" entry. Anyway, Patti "Patootie," I know you had a
great day and finally got to open your gifts from your sisters
and brother. You are a great big sister even if it took several
years for me to realize this. We sure fought a lot when we were
kids. HaHa You are such a thoughtful, sweet, kind sister, how
come you were such a brat when you were 10? It couldn't have
been me!! I'm off to call you and apologize for not being more
timely.

We love you,
-Barb ('50), Karen ('55), Jackie and Judie ('63), John ('66)

Re: friends n brothers n sisters of friends n...

... friends of friends and just being kids from Richland...
that's what it's all about... today, I've known one kid since
before school... n another kid since before that n another
since I was good friends with her sis ('65-RIP) and the hits
just keep comin' but there ain't nuthin' like bein' a Richland
kid... In fact, the other day I found a t-shirt that said
"Richland, where my story began"... I'm a sucker for Richland
stuff so I ordered me one... now after fillin' 12 bags of T-
shirts a few years back, most with the tags still on 'em, I've
been pretty careful of the shirts I buy... but hey... It's
Richland... sometimes I think Mary Lou WATKINS '('63) husband,
Van, is right about us being a cult... but then when ya come
from Hoquiam, I spoze anything over three is a crowd... I mean
just look at the turn out in the Sandstorm for Maren ('63&'64),
my bestex, when she told of her eye problems... we never
travel alone... we travel in groups... I remember in Jr Hi at
Chief Jo we used to walk several abreast down the hall... at
various times Mr. Barnard (math), Mr, Bernard (science) or both
would stop us and give us guff... they would make fun of us for
believing we were "different" and point out the fact that we
were dressed in what they called our "uniforms" ... that being
whatever was the popular style of the week/month or year... the
main difference being color... kids, I guess are pretty much
the same today except even in our wildest duck tail days no
matter how low we wore our pants (pretty much on our hip bones
since most of us never had butts) we never wore them so low
that almost all of our underwear showed... not sure how some
kids can even walk today... but as an old Marine Corps buddy
pointed out the other day... every generation seems to have to
push their parents as far as they can... music is a sure way to
do it... my mom never could get over the use of poetic license
in Rock n Roll... she would cringe and say "there's no such
thing as a duke of earl" and I could really get her with "red
blue jeans"... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh yute! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Myrna
BOLIN ('63... keep wearin' those hats, Sweets), Leo BUSTAD
('64) and Brad PUGH ('66... had the first weimaraner I ever
saw) on your special day, May 6, 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
