Well, here we are at the first of July. An important date, as it
is the day the "Eagle screams"; not only that, it's the birth
date of a Bomber who used to regale us with some fanciful tales.
Haven't heard much from him in quite a while; just hope that
everything is all right in beautiful downtown Burbank. Don't
think he actually lives in downtown; not with two now sizable
labs, but close enough.

Therefore, a tip of the ol' propeller beanie and a hearty "Happy
Birthday!" is in order for George "Pappy" SWAN ('59). Maybe,
some day, he will become the mayor of Burbank.

most of the weather guessers are backing off the 100°
      temps for the weekend.

Thank you David RIVERS ('65) for sharing.

I was reading David RIVERS' ('65) epistle and then went to the
picture of Jack KEENEY ('65), Jim MATTIS ('68) and Pierre
REMILLARD ('65).

Although I am of the decade before them I truly appreciate
hearing and reading about them and quite proud of their many
and meaningful accomplishments.

As I looked at their picture and was thinking about them, I
then noticed the background – sheets hanging to dry on the
clothesline and this brought back some memories of my early
childhood in Richland. Now living in the land of rain I'd
forgotten the hanging of laundry to sun dry. Still it didn't
distract from the picture of 3 handsome gentlemen of the '60s
who had accomplished much.

Thank you David for sharing.

Today is the birthday Sandstorm Deputy Editor (Plenipotentiary),
Richard ANDERSON ('60). Haven't heard too much from Richard
lately... I believe he's a bit under the weather. I want to
thank Richard so much, for without his knowledge, the Alumni
Sandstorm would not be what it is today. I can't begin to tell
you all how much he taught me about doing this newsletter. THANK
YOU, Richard... and happy Birthday!
