Can someone tell me what a prom dress cost back in the early
'60s? I need the information for a novel, and having never
purchased one myself I'm clueless. Thank you for your
assistance.

[Wish I could help ya David... my Mom made mine. -Maren]

-David DOUGLAS ('62) ~ Mesa, AZ where we have to run our solar
heater at night to cool off our swimming pool, and with
the beginning of the monsoon season, it's not only hot but
      also humid.

Re: I wouldn't believe it either, Jill BUTLER ('63)

But it's true... Yesterday (Tuesday, 6/30) was one a them
dayz... I had to play Judgie poo so I tested a couple a cars
that actually do have A/C installed to try out a theory I've
been tryin' on myself and told Jimmie ADAIR ('65-'67) about just
cuz I hadda tell someone... A/C in the desert can be a big waste
of time inna hot rod... because of the size of the engine
compartment and particularly the shape of the nose... you might
be able to get the hot air in... but getting it out ain't so
easy... sometimes things that should have no effect at all can
make a world of difference... don't argue thermodynamics with
me... it's true... we have had some success running them as
advanced as we can stand them... running different radiator caps
and on and on... last year I had great luck advancing my
roadster and running a 7 pound cap... it worked great... this
summer not so good... so this summer I went the other way and
tried 18-20 pound caps... so far so good... anyway I got the A/C
car to stay cool but was low on freon so got ready for court and
hit the trail in the Henry J... it was over 100° when I tested
the '40 Ford earlier and as I left for court it was about
108°... for, I believe, the first time in my career, I didn't
wear a suit... I started early as I had several cases with both
sides there and things moved just fine. When the calendar was
over I headed for the Rez to pick up cigs... got them and zap...
car started, stopped and that was that... started checking
"stuff" and called "Big Mike"... nothing was making sense... One
of my buds was going home from Mike's so he stopped to help...
after he had redone everything I had done we called Mike... no
answers there... It was about 112° and thank goodness I brought
a cooler of water (I never carry drinking water in town!) I
called AAA and they said an hour and 6 minutes... cool... an
hour later I called again... I had not charged my battery since
CDNs [Cool Desert Nights] duh! I usually carry a new ignition
switch and starter... this time I had the starter no switch and
no test light (my other car was still packed from the L.A.
Roadster Show)... At 9 PM I finally arrived at my house... ate
something and went to bed one tired old geezer... Now had it
been earlier... I would have jumped on the computer and sent a
sweet and thoughtful HB to George "Pappy" SWAN ('59), Richard
ANDERSON ('60) AND Jill BUTLER ('63) [on 7/1]... but it was not
to be... instead... it was a test a test of the depth of my love
and devotion to the dear Bomber-babe... and we passed the test
of time (a whole day can be a long time ya know)... "AND OUR
LOVE WILL GO ON TILL THE EEEEEEEEEEEEEND OF TIME... till the
end of time... (Thanks Earl Grant... I owe ya!)

Let's see now... I don't think I can stay out in the sun for 4
hours again today... the car didn't take long for me to fix this
morning... but I don't think I wanna stand in the heat like
that any more! So here we are again with another Bomber-babe
Birthday... sure hope it's a good one! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Jamie
WORLEY ('64) on your special day, July 2, 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
