"Golleee!!!" to quote the Junior Gyrene's favorite marine. Time
to report the birthday of another Bomber Babe from The Class of
'54. That's right, folks, a Bomber Babe that I went to school
with, but, unfortunately, don't remember too well. Except that
she is a Bomber Babe.

With all that being said, I shall now tip the ol' propeller
beanie and say "Happy Birthday!" to Ann BOREN ('54) on the
occasion of what purports to be her 21st. At least that's what
will be told to the bartender at the Uptown Tavern, should
he/she ask. Truth be told, I don't think she would frequent such
an establishment so we could change the locale to the Tahitian
Room.

or better have been forecast for today and tomorrow.

Read the bad news about a mysterious sturgeon die-off, on both
sides of McNary Dam recently... but was happy to see that Col-Hi
grad Malcolm CHUNN was interviewed to some length about the
issue. He has obviously kept up with fishing the river locally.
It's always reassuring to see some knowledgable eye-witness
observations in news stories, instead of only 'expert'
conjecture (although I take it all in).

The story I read was in the Seattle Times on July 16. I hope
that "the powers that be" can figure this out... and, if
possible DO something about it. ^..^

Marilyn "Em" DeVINE's ('52) entry about her visit to France
reminded me of our experience in Paris last month. When we
returned to our flat on the evening of June 20 there were three
police officers in our room. Someone had kicked in the door and
made off with my wife's iPad, our Kindles, my head phones, two
credit cards, medications, cash and a few other things. We spent
most of the following day dealing with police reports and bank
and medical issues. It was not a fun way to spend our last days
in Paris.

Re: Enjoying being back in Jolly

A lovely day in London using the tube and British Rail again,
walked across the millennium pedestrian bridge (not available
when we lived here '96-'oops), saw a Shakespeare play at the
globe, and ate a sandwich and a drink (diet coke with ice, the
Brits know we love ice) outside looking at the River Thames on
a sunny, breezy great day to be in London.
