I sure am sorry to read about your harrowing experience with a
prowler! Good for you to stop him cold!

To: Helen CROSS Kirk ('62)

We had the same poor luck trying to see the Changing of the
Guard as you did. I was amazed at the thousands of people there
to watch. The weather was perfect and afterward we walked along
the path and stream. Lots of birds (the names of which I have
forgotten) and one cute little heron.

To: Ed WOOD ('62)

Thank you for posting your photo of your viewing of the Changing
of the Guard. Great photo!

Weather in Richland today, Friday. Last day of July: After
sitting in the sun, the car thermometer read 121° when I went
out after day time Pinochle. In the shade at my house, it went
down to 106°. I suppose our Arizona compatriots would think
that's wonderfully cool. I hope to go to Alaska next week!

Bomber cheers,

How about that? We've arrived at the 1th of August. There is a
younger Bomber Babe of my acquaintance who celebrates her 18th
birthday today. Not only that, the Alumni Sandstorm was
"hatched" on this date something like 17 years ago; who figured.

Therefore, a tip of the ol' propeller beanie and a "Happy
Birthday!" for Ann ENGEL ('63) and a "Happy Anniversary!" to
the Alumni Sandstorm. May you both continue in good health.

temps may be coming down a degree or two.

Re: Seventeen

A totally Big day here in Bomberdom... It has been seventeen
years since our editor in Bomber-babe started this little rag
and it's still runnin' strong!!!!! Way to go Maren ('63 & '64)!

[I can't take all the credit... Gary BEHYMER ('64) is
the Bomber who REALLY started it... I just picked up
the ball and ran with it -- with a LOT of help from
      Richard ANDERSON ('60). -Maren]

Re: Aug 1

One month until hunting season opens here in Texas. The dove are
thick this year, so are the snakes. After a very wet May and
June, July finally got hot and the land has cracked wide open.
I was watering my backyard and the cracks (some over 4 inches
wide and I have no idea how deep) when to my surprise out pops
a 4 ft Copperhead. Luckily it was in flight mode and went under
the fence. If you don't like bugs or snakes, stay away from
Texas.
