The weather is absolutely perfect (65 to 80 for high temps), a soft breeze and plenty of sunshine! I've had time with my daughter and her husband, 2 of my granddaughters and 4 of my great-grands. Yesterday I visited and enjoyed a wonderful once-a-month Luncheon with friends from the 1980s. I have not yet seen the "resident" moose and calves here, but life doesn't get much better than this! I didn't know until last Sunday that I would be able to come up and there were some very negative reactions on the short notice but things are smoothed over now. I had emailed everyone of my plans, as soon as they were confirmed, that I would be arriving on Tuesday. Yes, it was short notice... but not anything I could have prevented. I tried for Wednesday but there were no seats available. I certainly didn't want to put it off for another week after having lost a month already. I like to come up for 2 months each year (July and August) but couldn't find a 2nd person to help with my live-in former sister-in-law. In the rush, I forgot to bring the keys to my car. (Matter of fact, I didn't even remember that I had taken them with me last year!) They are in the mail and should arrive tomorrow (today, as you read this) but it isn't guaranteed. A friend who saw my "stranded" plight on Facebook, picked me up here in the Butte to go the Luncheon in Wasilla. I felt so lucky to have been here for it. Wonderful friends and great food! There was a family of the Sikh religion...very interesting. Now I know why they wear the turbans. I guess we all have ideas that seem strange to others. I plan to be back in Richland next month in time for Club 40 and the trip to Lincoln City with the Rambling Rovers Senior travel group that I enjoy so much. I needa make a 'nouncment... on his birthday Mike SHEERAN ('66) shot his second hole in one!!! Now I know for a fact that at least two girls from my adopted class a '63 actually believe I am so stupud about sports that I don't know what that means... well, ha ha ha... it's where the puck goes over the goal post without touching the backboard on the first pitch... so there! For Linda REINING ('64), Michael PETERSON ('77) says he sang two songs with Richland in them on the "Modern Man" album in 2001... but... it was not released in the US... arrrrrrrrrrgh. So now on to two kids that have been close to me for quite a while. One I've known since we were 15... we don't go back as far as some but then he was not in Richland before that... the other I've only known for 25 years but they shore been good ones... we've been thru great times and not so great times... we've eaten strawberry pie in every place in So-Cal... we've fought our way outa the big surplus store on H-wood blvd... We've watched Terry DAVIS ('65) take his first rolley-coaster ride... and oh so very much more...
