Re: Continued from yesterday's news

Re: How to Pick out a Cantaloupe... forgot to include how to
pick up a good one: The stem end should be smooth. If it's
jagged (not smooth) it means that it was picked before its time.

Re: Bowling Alley

I was one who set pins at the old Richland bowling alley at the
ripe old age of 14... that would have been the summer of 1953;
one of the hardest, toughest jobs I ever had. We made $.11 a
line and got tips sometimes during league play. I would walk
home around 11pm dragging my behind. Can you imagine a 14 year
old doing that kind of work today, OSHA would come unglued, HA.
I was even called in to help with resurfacing the lanes one day
and got so high on the fumes that I did not know which way was
up, course laying on the ground outside on my back I did find
the answer. Those were the days.

My tip is about fresh oranges - always look for the ones with
the "big butt" - opposite from the stem end. The bigger the
butt, the sweeter the orange.

we have some thunder showers today

>>From: Lynn-Marie HATCHER Peashka ('68)

Thomas W. PEASHKA ('68) went home with Jesus on August 12, 2015,
at 3:27 a.m. His earthly death was due to metastatic pancreatic
cancer. His last great wish was fulfilled in that he died with
his wife beside him, in their own bed at Haven Farm, ID.

There will be further postings on CaringBridge.org over the next
few days with details as to Thomas' last day/night on earth.

A link to Thomas' obituary will follow.
