I know, I know, don't tick off the judge. Well, there it is. And the old sympathy trick is still working to some extent. Above all that it is time to celebrate the birthday of a Bomber Babe whom I remember from back in the day; and who may or may not be very, very, very, very distantly related. There is also a rumor that she may be married to a fellow classmate of mine. I cannot confirm or deny this rumor at this time. Be that as it may, a tip of the ol' propeller beanie and a hearty "Happy Birthday!" is in order for Charlotte CARLSON ('52). May the Arizona sun shine on her day, but not as bright or hot as it can sometimes be. -Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54) ~ Mount Angel, OR where ninety° weather is scheduled to return by the middle of the week *************************************************************** *************************************************************** >>From: Tom VERELLEN ('60) I seem to remember some time in the mid fifties (wow, doesn't that sound like long, long ago?) in a window store front, uptown, west side, near the north end, a painter doing demonstrations of wet on wet oil painting, he used two colors on a white canvas, like a dark blue and burnt sienna. I am thinking it was Bill Alexander mentor to Bob Ross. Or I am having some kind of flash back caused by to many paint fumes and watching an old episode on PBS. Just wondering if anyone else shares this memory or is it just me? These kinds of things are coming up far too often any more. -Tom VERELLEN ('60) ~ from near Lacey, one good day of rain and back to the sunshine. *************************************************************** *************************************************************** >>From: David RIVERS ('65) Re: sticky note Well with the Commencement of the two-day celebration at the B-day Bomber-babe's house I found that it was time to do my sticky note for the next few weeks... It just dawned on me that the B-day babe married a younger man... so ha ha ha ML ('63) you hadyer chance and you blew it... now ya gotta Grizzly with no hair... but a damn good golfer... and father, husband and friend and and and ok you dun good even tho he's a non-believer in the "cult"... I must say I'm getting stirred up over the reunion... I mean some of these kids I haven't seen since school and some for ten years as I missed our 45 year (that's a nuther story)... some I see at least once a year and it's not nearly enuff... Allegiant scheduled the Sunday flight for right when we'll be having a memorial... reminds me of the one at '63's 50 year... Bill WILSON ('63) and Lamont DeJONG ('63) brought tears to everyone's eyes and I spilled my water all over Dave SIMPSON ('63) but they let me stay anyway... I will be winging my way over Richland but the names of our loved ones, passed on and infirm will be in my heart... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Judy BOGGS ('64) on your special day, August 17, 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -David RIVERS ('65) *************************************************************** *************************************************************** Bomber Memorial >>George DAVIS ~ Class of 1965 ~ 1946 - 2014 Bomber Memorials *************************************************************** *************************************************************** That's it for today.
