Re: Club 40

It's NOT too late to get your reservations in for the September
11th and 12th celebration at the Red Lion-Richland. A proof read
has gotten past us and some of you might notice that on the top
of the registration form it says "any registrations and monies
postmarked after August 22nd will be returned". Deadline is
August 28th!!! If it is postmarked that day, it will be
accepted!!

Some are still confused as to how to get a registration form.
Go to RichlandBombers.com
Scroll down to Club 40 (towards the top of the page) and click
on it. At the top of page is "Reunion info", click on that.
Then click on "2015 Registration Form". You will be able to
print this form and fill it out and the address where to mail it
is on the bottom of page. Be sure to total all monies filled in.

Please be sure to include you annual dues of $10 per Bomber!! If
your dues were current, you would have received a registration
form in the Dust Storm which was mailed first week of June. If
you wonder if your dues are current, look on your address label
and the year will be in the upper right hand corner. It is
always a good idea to include the dues when you reserve your
spot for our September celebration each year.

Our Webmaster, Nate (NAB), will be listing more Bombers on the
"attendees list" as they are received. Come enjoy the fun!!!
It's NOT too late!! (But this coming Friday IT is!!)

Always feel free to contact me if you need help!!

Here we are at yet another birthday. I knew this Bomber back
in the day. Can't remember exactly when we first met, but it
must have been during sophomore year. Think we may have even
"Thesped" during that time. Ran into him much later at one of
the Tacoma luncheons. Didn't appear to have changed much. I
also learned through these pages that he flew aeroplanes both
for the Air Force and also privately. He also played the
clarinet in the band and orchestra.

On that note, a tip of the ol' propeller beanie and a hearty
"Happy Birthday!" is in order for Jerry SWAIN ('54). Keep on
truckin', my friend.

Re: Northwest fires

A long-time minister friend living just outside of Tonasket, WA
has been very close to the fires. They have moved temporarily
into town as the fires have been all around them. The latest
fire was finally extinguished at the edge of Highway 20
pavement, just across the street from their home, but there are
hot spots all around them. Up to this point they have been one
of the lucky ones. Oroville which is just North of them has been
notified that evacuation is a very real immediate possibility.
My friend is pastor to a community church in Tonasket and part-
time pastor to a church in Oroville. Please offer prayers for
those families that have been devastated or threatened by the
fires, and especially those who have lost loved ones in this
tragedy.

Re: perspective

So how to tell the tale is the question... I guess mine is the
only one I know for sure, but I can echo "Best one yet"... I
rolled into town around 7 PM Thursday nite and was so hungry I
could pay 50 cents for a steak... Cecilia BENNETT ('65) picked
me up and we ran over to the new Steak house by the Marriott...
found CROWsky ('65) and the Misus there and had a most fabulous
dinner (Thanks Gary) with more catch up than I've had inna
while... MOUTON ('65) walked by and we grabbed her then visited
with Diane MURPHY ('65) and Rob TURPING ('65)... MOUTON made her
feelings about the term "Bomber-babe" clear and I was instructed
I was never to mention her ass again... so Connie DAME ('65)
will take over as the sole record holder of the Jr Hi
cheerleader's butt... not that the rest of the babes don't look
wonderful but we must admit, to have the exact same rear end one
had in 7th grade is pretty amazing... most others kids were
spread across town at that time of night so just hit the hay
till morning... Spuddies took center stage for many of us Friday
morning and I managed to hang around the shop till almost 11...
talking to alla kids congregated there in various waves... Then
a short trip to see Freddie GEORGE ('65) at his mom's old house,
where he made me promise not to give out any info on him (there
is no limit to weird as we get older)... Then out to see Terry
DAVIS' ('65) new digs and a tour of West Richland... Friday
evening was sandwiches made with Airport bread and something
that resembled Tacos and beans... not complaining, it was about
the same fare as we had at the Gold Medal's 50th... Dean HOFF
('62) and Jimbeaux ('63) invited me to share tacos... I
passed... the mingling with some kids we hadn't seen in 50 years
was fantastic... Steven HOSACK ('65) of absentee letters signed
"My father" and tongue to the baseball fence in the winter (my
mom about died when he opened his mouth) fame came in from
Gilroy for the first visit since I don't know... with no smell
of garlic that I could sense... the only way to describe the
nite was the way I described our 25th... it was as tho we had
returned to grade school days with all the joy and innocence of
those wonderful years... by early morning Friday, Jackson KEENEY
('65) had lost his car keys, room key, driver's license and
glasses... a trip to DMV was had before Spuddies... it would
continue for the remainder of the weekend... Late Friday nite,
Debbie LYONS ('65), Nancy WICK ('65), Jimbeaux ('63), Cecilia
and I hit Jack in the box for tacos... Saturday was another day
of Spuddies and then more festivities... just before it was time
for school pix, Pierre REMILLARD ('65) who had driven a "new"
car rather than the Model A for reliability called to say he and
CMOORE ('65) were broken down on the south side... we ran over
and brought CMOORE back, and dropped Jack off to go pick up
Pierre... Cecilia and I headed for Col-Hi for pix... as we got
to the school Jack called to say he had locked his keys in my
room! I talked to the front desk, he retrieved the keys and made
it for the pix... pix were fun; by grade, Jr Hi and Hi school...
since there were no Garfield kids there we were all onna same
page for that one... we spent 3.5 hours writing our names in the
right slots for each school and then on to the DI for a great
evening... One of the highlights was the presentation of a Quilt
of Valor to Jimmy HEIDLEBAUGH ('65)... he was shocked... WORD
the wise on Programs... CONTACT Jim HAMELTON ('63) when planning
the program... .Jimbeaux has the 22 minute formula... nuff
said... Dancing and mingling were magic... I watched Doug
BENOLIEL ('65) execute all my best slow dance moves and Lamont
WARDEN ('65) go thru my fast dance routines with great envy...
Mr. Kandi GRUBB (NAB) offered to allow me the honor, but pain is
the great deterrent no matter how much you wanna... I know I've
missed a million memories and a million kids... I love you all
and thank you for a wonderful Reunion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
