Re: and the beat goes on

I've mentioned before how enjoyable it has been to meet and
greet so many Bombers on Facebook as well as the SS. One
thing that leaving Richland for twenty years got me is a void
in knowing kids older and younger than I beyond the school
years... At least in my world, if kids were a few years older
and younger and you didn't know their other family members
one might never really get to know the older or younger kids.
I knew Charlie WARFORD ('61) and Terry CHRISTENSEN ('61)
through Ricky WARFORD ('65) but knew very few kids from '61
beyond that... kids who stayed in Richland or went to college
in Washington often got to know the other kids through school
or work. Hanging around older kids when we were younger,
often got us the "Tell that BOY to stop staring at me" or
"move over kid ya bother me" comments and not much more...
of course there were exceptions... Keggers, Drags and dances
come to mind... at those functions there was always a little
more elbow rubbing as the saying goes... then there was
"love"... and when I say Love I mean LUV L U V! One such
occurrence comes to mind every time I have to change a
tire... it seems that our own Jackson KEENEY ('65) was under
control of his heart... yes I'm sure it was his heart at work
and some Bomb-babes suggested that he let the air outa an
"older" Bomber's tires... for the rest of the evening,
Jackson dismounted each tire, in turn, took it to the gas
station, re-filled it with air and remounted it... gee I hope
he had an accurate torque wrench on him... Well, time to wish
a great Bomber an HB so lemme get to it... met this guy and a
number of his friends when they "relocated" from Cuba... glad
they settled in Richland and we had the opportunity to become
friends in a friendship which has lasted a VERY long time...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Rafael ALCAZAR ('64) on your special day,
