Re: Gordon Pappas; Bob JOHNSON's ('54) 7/3/17 entry

I agree with Bob JOHNSON's ('54)s remarks and the presentation
of "Good News". I was fortunate to participate in it. Another
reminder of the uniqueness of our school and the great lady
Cynthia Huckstep (RIP) at Carmichael.

Re: David RIVERS' ('65) entry for July 4

I am SO glad someone besides me remembers the whole crowd at
the fireworks in Richland going oooow aaahhh. I so badly want
to do it every year as I watch fireworks. My daughter thinks
I'm nuts - but it just seems right. Oh well, I am old and
think I will do it at least a few times this year. *LOL*

Re: 4th of July memories

Punching a hole in the bottom of a tin can pulling a
firecracker wick through the hole light the wick and watching
the can shoot up in the air. I don't remember who thought of
it (possibly Don WAGSTER ('56-RIP). Putting the can over a
smaller can of water and watching the first can shoot much
higher!

Putting a firecracker in a rifle shell casing in a tree branch
lighting it the shell would shoot across the field: we
sometimes could find it!

Sending away to Mt. Hood, OR. to order firecrackers (not legal
in Washington then) fearing arrest when the package arrived.

Lighting and dropping cherry bombs off the Yakima river bridge
and watching them go off under water!

Re: Bob Cravens

I'm glad to hear that Bob is doing fine. Over the years, I
often wondered how he was doing. We played together with his
neighbors Chuck WITTEBORT ('61wb) and Tom CRIGLER ('61). I'm
almost positive Bobby would have been with the class of 1961.
