Re: Flood Rescues by Coasties

As of 0900hr. Thursday the USCG has rescued 1000 pets and
6000 PEOPLE from the floods in TX. Three cheers and a prayer
for those heroes working 24 hrs a day.

Re: Our Busy Schedule

Jackie and I are flying to Philadelphia Sunday. We have a
busy schedule. Some Genealogy research at the National
Archives for Jackie, then a 6 hour drive to Niagara Falls
area to visit our 6 Great Grand Children. Monday we will
visit St. Mary's of the Cataract Catholic Church where my
parents got married in 1941. Dad was a manager (Paymaster)
at the local DuPont plant before the war. Jackie has even
contacted the County Clerk and will pick up a copy the folks'
Marriage License for the Mattingly book. Monday night we
will watch the closing of the tourist season with Fireworks
over the falls (Canadian side). I am a Licensed Fireworks
Supervisor in Canada and hope to get down and visit the crew
onsite.

Tuesday we are off to Erie PA for the annual National
Fireworks Association convention. (and 4 nights of fireworks)
Sunday we are back with Great Grand Children for a couple of
days before wending our way home, stopping again in Philly
for more research at the National Archive.

Any Bombers in those areas wanna meet for a Libation?,
Snacks?, a Meal?

While this pales in importance to the Iditarod and Saturday
morning Cars and Coffee, I'm surprised that no one has
mentioned tonight's Friday Night Lights matchup in Bellevue
betwixt the Bombers and perennial 3A football power Bellevue
High School. It's a home game for the pretty much universally
hated and enormously tainted Wolverines, with a scheduled 7PM
kickoff,

Hey RHS Class of 1972!

Our reunion is coming up fast! Only 2 weeks away!

Please let us know by TODAY,September 1st if you are planning
to attend the Saturday picnic at Leslie Grove Park (see
details below). The caterer requests a head count for meal
preparation.

On Friday, September 15, if convenient, please stop by the
Hanford House lobby between 2:00 and 4:00 to check in with
us, get name tags, prepay for the picnic, and get further
information if needed. Look for a class of '72 sign.

REUNION DETAILS

FRIDAY, Sept. 15: - 4:30 to 9:30. There will be a no-host
evening in a private room at the Gaslight.

SATURDAY, Sept. 16: Jim QUALHEIM ('70) will give a tour of
the high school at 9:30am. The school has significantly
changed since we attended it 45 years ago!

SATURDAY, Sept. 16: - 11:30 to 3:30. We're having a catered
picnic at Leslie Grove Park (north end at the picnic
shelter). ($20 each - please RSVP). Bring your own chairs (if
possible) and beverages. Terri Marcum, owner of Sports Page
and RHS alumni, will be catering.

SATURDAY NIGHT, Sept. 16: - 4:00 to 10:00. There will be an
informal social gathering in the courtyard of the Richland
Red Lion (Hanford House). Tony MAKI and Janice BUNCH Maki
will be holding a wine tasting event, featuring wines from
Hedges Cellars and Chandler Reach, both of which are also
owned by Richland alumni.

CLASS OF '67 IS INVITED TO THIS WINE TASTING EVENT!!!

We will be having an official Class of '72-hosted Hospitality
Suite both Friday and Saturday nights at the Hanford House,
hosted by Tony MAKI and Janice BUNCH Maki. We would like
everyone to come to the Suite and the courtyard to continue
catching up.

Other events that are being considered include:

- a hike up Badger Mountain and/or Candy Mountain (shorter
and less strenuous than Badger);

- a tailgate party in the parking lot adjacent to the Spudnut
Shop.

The Hanford House is giving us a group rate for our reunion -
a premium room for $113 a night, including the breakfast
buffet (regular price is $125). Call 1-800-733-5466 and ask
to make a reservation at the Richland Red Lion. Give them the
dates of September 15 and 16, 2017, give them the group code
RICH0915, and specify a first floor premium room so you get a
room opening out on to the grass courtyard. We will have
tables out on the grass to facilitate socializing.

NOtICE: CLASS OF '67 IS ALSO HAVING A REUNION AT THE RICHLAND
RED LION (HANFORD HOUSE). CALL SOONER RATHER THAN LATER FOR
YOUR RESERVATION!
