Re: September 14

A joy for all fellow Bombers to share with us. September 14,
1952 I was truly blessed. I stood at an altar next to a tall,
handsome, thoughtful and precious man named Pete (NAB), He
asked me to share the rest of his life with him. While I'm
thanking you Pete, thanks also for two fantastic sons too!
Thank you also for being such a wise, thoughtful and loving
father--Scoutmaster, great guidance, and teaching them to
climb every major mountain in Oregon and the finale--a three
day climb on Mt. Rainier in Washington state. They reflect
all of this back in the way they have raised our four
grandchildren and how our two great grandchildren are being
raised. So Happy 65th Anniversary dear and "God willin' and
the creek don't rise" we will share a toast next September 14
on our 66th. Love, Pat

We are all still praying for rain in this next of the woods;
mainly to help put out the many wild fires around the area.
When asked how much rain would help, one fire fighter
responded "About 40 days and 40 nights might do."

Now to the subject at hand, the birthday of a Bomber Babe I
personally know. We went to school together, graduated on the
same day, and we still speak to each other at Club 40. I feel
certain that she will be at Applebee's this Friday for lunch
with the rest of the girls. Unless she has something more
important to do, like welcoming home returning service
persons.

A tip of the ol' propeller beanie and a "Happy Birthday!" to
Norma MYRICK ('54). Please don't spend the day at the Uptown
Tavern, even though you are now old enough to go in
unescorted.

If you would like to email her your good wishes, her e-mail

her something more substantial (like an M2 3-wood/5-wood

Re: Chris VOWELS ('71) ~ 9/13/17 Tri-City Herald

Retired Richland police sergeant, Chris VOWELS ('71),
   makes his last journey.

   Chris VOWELS came home Tuesday.

After spending six months in and out of a Seattle
hospital for various treatments, the 64-year-old
retired Richland police sergeant got a special escort
   into the Tri-Cities.

It wasn't the type of homecoming vowels and his family
envisioned when they started his journey, battling
severe aplastic anemia and all the complications that
   come with the rare disease.

But they said they felt wrapped in love as their
personal motorcade of four cars and an ambulance was
joined by law enforcement, veterans and friends for the
final 21 miles of their road trip to The Hospice House
   in Kennewick.
