Happy belated birthday to one of the very, very good ones... Norma LOESCHER Boswell ('53) on 11/2... she knew my wife before I did, being a Sorority Sister of hers, and she has remained very special to us and a bunch of '53ers... probably beyond that... we hope that you had a great day. Much Love, Jim ('53) and Edna (class of '54 Clover Park) -Jim McKEOWN ('53) ~ from sunny but cool Sacramento where my porch light went out (and not the bulb) so we had a fraction of the trick treaters we normally get....what to do with the candy!!? ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Sara Ousley, aka Ann BISHOP ('56) Re: Vets All Bombers There is a place here (actually in Texas) for vets with PTSD. The men running it are vets who have experienced it themselves. They have been given a very large facility in Maud ,TX and need help with money donations for the next 5-6 months until their grants and etc. come in. If you are so inclined to help contact me and I'll give you the address. The organization is Lancer Legacy Ranch. Matt Fisk and Carl Wild are two of the founders. Matt has written a book and on Dec 7 National Geographic will air something based on Matt's book and he will be interviewed. -Sara Ousley, aka Ann BISHOP ('56) ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Barbara SESLAR Brackenbush ('60) Re: Class of 1960 Bomber Luncheon DATE: Saturday, November 4, 2017 TIME: 11:30 a.m. WHERE: 3 Margaritas (downtown near Lee Blvd.) Spouses and friends are also welcome! Has anyone tried to walk a railroad rail or even those four inch raised concrete barriers around parking lots lately? It's harder than it used to be!!! Maybe being over weight has thrown my equilibrium off a tad. I'm afraid to practice too much because I might break an ankle. -Duane LEE ('63) ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Roy BALLARD ('63) & Nancy ERLANDSON Ballard ('67) Re: Rex DAVIS ('49) Well you would never know that Rex has another birthday on 10/31. I prolly met the youngest one first in about second grade... I'd meet the other one in around 6th grade and have been a huge fan of both of them since the first meeting... One of these guys went on to become a famous Captain of a huge destroyer floating around the South China Sea long enough to pull my skinny behind out of a bit of a pickle in 1968 for which I shall be forever grateful! OK maybe I overstated his rank a tad... but only a tad... My memories of these two Bombers will stay a large part of the best of times in our wonderful Home Town... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Steve DENLER ('64) and Dickie RHODES ('65) on your special day, November 3, 2017!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -David RIVERS ('65) ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Linnea GATES Williams ('66) Re: Chief Jo Banner http://AlumniSandstorm.com/Xtra/Gat/171028-Warrior_Banner.jpg I sent you a message last weekend looking for a home for a Chief Jo banner... I have found a good home, so please delete the 'ad'... I received a couple of emails and will be delivering the banner to its new owner this week. Thank you so much, -Linnea GATES Williams ('66) [Since it wasn't really any kind of "ad" I can't very well take it back... it was an entry on October 28, 2017. -Maren] ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Mike FRANCO ('70) I want to wish a late happy birthday to one of the all time great Bombers, Rex DAVIS ('49) on 10/31. Back when "The Park" was Riverside Park Coach Davis taught me to play tennis. I give Rex credit (along with the fact that I was hopeless as a baseball player) for my now going on 58 years of enjoying tennis. It was a treat to play a little with Rex a couple years ago. I look forward to another of those get togethers soon. Two questions Coach: -All my life I have had a much stronger backhand than forehand. Was that your great coaching or do I just have a lousy forehand? -Do you have any pointers on how to reverse my gradual slowing down? I seem to be getting a little slower every year. This has been going on for about 35 years! I really need to do something... SOON! -Mike FRANCO ('70) ************************************************************* ************************************************************* That's it for today. Please send more. *************************************************************
