I'm always a day late, since I don't keep a calendar like David ('65)does... I have enough problems trying to keep up with all of the stuff around here. Edna ('54 Clover Park, WA) and I hope you had a great day, and we are hoping to see you again next year, the Lord willing... -Jim McKEOWN ('53) ~ from what we hope is a very wet Wednesday in Sacramento ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Gary BEHYMER ('64) Re: Hains Avenue ~ Ginkgo Trees, etc.. HAINS AVE... "We were told they (Ginkgo trees) were planted when the houses were built in the 40's. We were also told the houses on this street were reserved for high ranking officers working at Hanford. Not sure it's true...." ~ The Hains Avenue Breakfast Club Yes... or No? -Gary BEHYMER ('64) ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: David RIVERS ('65) Re: It's not the age difference I have often said that I am glad and very proud to know and be friends with many Bombers. Some are older and some are younger than I. I have happily learned over the years that admiration is not a function of one's age but rather a function of one's character. I've mentioned that a few reunions ago the b-day Bomber taught me a lesson I have not forgotten. There was a time when I wished to skip the memorial portion of reunions... you know when we show pictures of class members no longer with us. I mean it's sad, dang it! At the reunion in question, this fellow had made a poster remembering a student some folks had not known well. It happened to be a Gold Medal reunion, where I am privileged to attend so long as I don't spill my milk. I can't say I've always carried my end of the bargain but I try. I mentioned to this fellow that I might skip out on the memorial that year and was sat down for a little lesson in gratitude and love. It made a huge impression on me. Not that I don't admire this guy in many ways but that really sealed the deal. Now I do not intend to slight the other b-day Bomber and B-day Bomber-babe, I just felt the need to share... So HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Dick BOEHNING ('63), Kandy SMITH ('63) and Jim SCHILDNECHT ('70) on your special day, November 9, 2017!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -David RIVERS ('65) ************************************************************* ************************************************************* That's it for today.
