Not that I forgot to do so in yesterday's SS; I forgot to send it in. Today's message is not about birthday's, but a local event taking place on December 2nd and 3rd. HazelNutFest is now in its 8th year. I think it used to be called Kristkinderfest or something like that. Any way it will be in the Mount Angel Festhall and the admission is free. It starts about 10am and runs to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. So, if you are looking for an unusual Christmas present (probably "homemade"), as Monty Hall might say: "Come on down!" Who knows whom you might see there. -Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54) ~ Mount Angel, OR where the snow is staying in the mountains as it should. ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: David RIVERS ('65) Re: Wind and Storm... waaaah ooooooh Gone the Sun, from the Stars my dark has come... No, I'm not feeling sorry for myself... I just walked out and have we gotta storm hitting Vegas... YUK! Not that Thomas Wayne's [Perkins] only hit isn't one of my all time favorite songs... I know it's not rockin' enuff for Q ('62), but then I always loved to lay on my bed and listen to alla sad love songs when I was a tad younger... by the way, for Q, Thomas' brother did back Johnny Cash on a guitar back when... for those of you feeling confused, yes Washington's own Fleetwoods did remake Tragedy a couple of years after Wayne's version... I know I do spend a great deal of time lost in the '50s and '60s when it comes to music, cars and of course girls... Especially our famous Bomber-babes... I doubt that I am alone in being surprised to wake up and find I made it past 30 or 40. I had no long term plans because I didn't expect anything long term from this relationship with myself... I talked to my buddy from the 196th light infantry brigade the other day... you will recall that outfit as being the one portrayed in the series "Tour of Duty"... we had a wonderful catch-up and he filled me in on alla the reunions since Terry DAVIS ('65) and I were at one with them several years back... at the time, I had one large "Tour of Duty" poster left (I brought one to R2K to be raffled off too). but I had no way to get it to Terry to be signed as Terry is great on intentions but not always so great on the carry thru so it remains with my buddy framed but unsigned... we laughed and laughed and just hadda great talk... I have got to be better at keeping in touch with people... Oh by the way, he said that at the last reunion, the guy who sings at all their reunions could not be there as he was receiving the Medal of Honor almost 50 years after the fact... I remember he sang "Danny Boy" the year Terry and I were there... OK I know this doesn't have much to do with Bombers, but then my mind has never been one to hold a single train of thought for very long at one time so if I have rambled forgive me... today we got one of them Gold Medal guys who I always thought was just about as nice as anyone I've met... Now don't laugh because each of us can immediately recall a good number of kids we brushed elbows with back then that were anything but nice and some we've never been anxious to meet up with ever again... so lemme just yell HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Dennis SMITH ('63) on your special day, November 17, 2017 (same as my Pop's b-day)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -David RIVERS ('65) ************************************************************* ********************** MEMORIAL INFO ************************ ************************************************************* not a memorial - only INFO today Sharlene CEARLOCK Soltero ('64wb-RIP) ~ 9/9/46 - 10/31/17 Memorial Service: TODAY, Friday, November 17, 2017, 10am Mary Queen of Peace, 1121 228th Ave SE, Sammamish, WA ************************************************************* ********************** MEMORIAL INFO ************************ ************************************************************* not a memorial - only INFO today Tami SCHUCHART Keller ('68-RIP) ~ 9/30/50 - 9/29/17 Celebration of Life: TOMORROW, Saturday November 18, 2017 1pm Calvary Community Church, 12612 N.
