Happy belated birthday on 12/10, Cathy. You deserved to have a wonderful day. I want to thank the many Bombers who provided consolation and inspiration to me following the loss of our son. There were names from decades ago, and some I didn't recognize except through the Alumni Sandstorm, and I deeply appreciated each one. We make up the diverse Bomber family, whether our nickname is based on an airplane or, in my generation's case, was expressed by the model bomb placed at the center of the football fields and basketball courts during halftime (long before I ever heard of Day's Pay). I am forever thankful that I graduated from Col-Hi (or whatever it's called today). -David DOUGLAS ('62) ~ Mesa, AZ ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Jim HOUSE ('63) I know when you ask "How are you doing?" you are not seeking a report from my medical chart, rather a check on my spirit. I usually reply "groovy". That livens up the room. Ray ('64) always greets me with a compliment. Isn't he special? Sometimes I volunteer more. For example I will explain that my condition may be causing my face to look like I have been in a fight or I stepped in something foul. Feel free to discuss my medical information with anyone from the Gossip in the back row to the Scientist trying to learn from my experiences. -Jim P.S. Myrna ('63): Rest easy, I still am not married, and I have a 401 K. -Jim HOUSE ('63) ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Shirley COLLINGS Haskins ('66) Re: Richland Basketball ~ 12/10/17 Tri-City Herald "Richland boys knock off nationally ranked team to win Utah tourney." "The Richland boys basketball team is not one to back down from a challenge. Facing one of the top teams in the nation Saturday in the championship game of the Great Western Shootout, Cole NORTHOP stepped up with 31 points to lead the Bombers past Wasatch Academy 67-66 in Orem, Utah. 'We had a good team win,' Richland coach Earl Streufert said. 'They were large and strong. We beat three really good teams down there. When your guys play well together, you can see what they can do.' Wasatch Academy of Mt. Pleasant, Utah, was ranked 15th in USA Today's Super 25 Preseason Boys Basketball rankings in mid-November, and still were 15th in Week 2." -Shirley COLLINGS Haskins ('66) ~ Richland ************************************************************* ************************************************************* That's it for today.
