Maren, take a deep breath and relax. You might be taking on
too much at a time. The deceased Bomber project is a great
undertaking and quite complex with all you include. I, for
one, as I know so many others, certainly appreciate all you
do for the Bomber Alums. Take care and take it easy.

Ya gotta give the gal a whole bunch of credit 'n hugs 'n
whatever else may come to mind for all the work she does to
insure that us Bombers are kept up to date. Thank you, Maren.

This is also the birthday of a Bomber Babe whom I went to
school with. I cannot, in good conscience, make up stories
about her like some one of the younger generation is wont to
do. In all honesty, I don't remember her. Had to look her up,
but she (like me) wasn't in the '54 Columbian. Found her in
the '53 Columbian, and still didn't trigger anything.

Beside the point. A tip of the ol' propeller beanie and a
"Happy Birthday!" to Sue FARLEY ('54) on what has to be
her 22nd or 23rd. And if you were to clock me with a dead
mackeral during the 65 year reunion next year, I'll
understand.

Maren, Thank you for all you do for the Sandstorm; from my
perspective of constantly having trouble with internet,
iPhones, and computers, etc., it's nice to know you aren't
perfect; just better than most.

Bomber Cheers,

having some days above freezing and some days getting
down to 11 at night; guess this is typical winter weather

Re: Bomber Memorial Pictures project

Anybody out there with an Ancestry.com account who is
willing to help find occasional Dates of Birth and Death?
Just discovered the Bomber I was counting on has an inactive
account.

>>From: Mike FRANCO ('70)

I HATE sharing sad news. The youngest of the six of us
"Franco kids" passed away this past Sunday in Denver. She had
endured cancer for about six years. Her time had come but it
was incredibly painful. Her passing also brought back endless
memories.

Martha Franco went to Jefferson and Hanford.

Martha was born in 1962 when I was 10, sister Barbara 13,
Marc 14. Janet 7 and Ellen barely 1. I used to remember our
house as a circus, but I think most circuses were under much
more control than our bunch!

Looking back: We lived at 1909 Davison, corner of Davison and
Willis. Meekers were next door, Turpings next door to them,
Felts and Ned Smith and the Barrs close by on Willis.
Cartmells, Bixlers, Van Wykes a couple blocks away, the Roe
girls right up the street. Waggoners, Armstrongs all close
by. It was a typical Richland neighborhood. Everyone knew
everyone and TONS of kids everywhere.

Martha received a lot of attention as a baby and toddler. She
had the very best of what all of us experienced as Richland
kids. She had Kathie and Carolyn ROE as her prime baby
sitters. Trisha Meeker next door was like a seventh kid for
us.

A few years later I used to walk Martha and Ellen (one year
older) over to Fran Rish's house on McMurray (a block away)
for swimming lessons in the summer. That Rish was pretty
different from the one we all got to know in high school! The
memories are endless and I think very similar to those we all
have.

Martha was not a Bomber but I wanted to share with our many
friends. I hope some of you or your family members might
remember Martha and those very early Richland days for all of
us.
