For two years in 1964 and into 1966 I was in the Army stationed in Germany. My wife was able to secure a job with military family housing as she was not an American and was fluent in both English and German. Along with the American officer and enlisted man who ran the operation, a number of Germans were employed there and German was commonly spoken. One other girl worked for the Army and there the odd circumstances began. The girl was married to an Austrian who was from Vienna; my wife and I had met in Vienna a few years prior. My wife had been born and raised in Sweden, a Swede. The girl's name was Cindy Schwede, the German word for Swede. Both ladies were born on the same day in 1943: the 31st of October-Halloween. I've experienced a number of other odd coincidences over the years but I think this is as odd as they come. -Dale ENNOR ('59) ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Pete BEAULIEU ('62) To: Helen CROSS Kirk ('62) Re: 62LC6th-Lester http://AlumniSandstorm.com/Xtra/Bea/191028-62LC6th-Lester.jpg Helen: The class photo really is very high resolution. Inexplicable. The photo itself is only a little over 3" by 4". It Xeroxed very poorly for an enlargement that I was going to mail to Maren (I do not have a scanner), but the team at FedEx Office ran the original through an "enhancer" before loading the new image onto my thumb drive. Amazing results for about two dollars. And, yes, in the photo #26 is likely "Charlene Goodenow" (Maren: take note!). To: David DOUGLAS ('62) David: You have to stop relying on others to help you keep track of your high school harem! But since you ask, I have dipped into my memory banks and can offer you this lead. It was during one of our senior year Calculus classes (Calvin Gentle's class) that one of our clan brought a visiting friend to class. You were seated in front of the second row and the day-visitor took an empty seat in the back of the first row. She was introduced as none other than Mary K. POORE. Can't remember whether you jumped onto your desk in euphoria or not (maybe that was a different time, ho, ho, ho). Mary K. was introduced as living in Prosser at the time. Take it from there, Romeo... -Pete BEAULIEU ('62) ~ in Shoreline, WA with the steel-trap memory of trivia, some of which is actually true. ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Terry DAVIS Knox ('65) Re: Inherit the Wind http://AlumniSandstorm.com/Xtra/Dav/191101-Inherit_Wind.jpg We open tonight and run 3 weekends.
