Maren, your Alumni Sandstorm is always in my peoplepc.com
inbox. If you've never heard of peoplepc.com, I'm not
surprised. It's an old dial-up ISP, now owned by CenturyLink
(I think). It costs about $85 a year, but paying that is
easier than changing my email address with dozens of
websites.

I'm still using Microsoft's Live Essentials Mail 2012, which
Microsoft obviously doesn't like. This week I opened my
email program to see that I had 930 unread emails since the
previous evening. For some reason, Mail 2012 likes to restore
emails that I deleted, sometimes several years past. This
time (it's happened many times before) the oldest one was
2015. I have a separate folder for members of a writers'
critique group I belong to - 9 members in the group. Saturday
I had 780 unread emails. Fortunately, it's easy to find them.
The senders' names all have a quote mark in front that
normal emails don't have. I sort by name, highlight the first
and last emails with quote marks around the senders' names,
and press the delete key. But it is annoying.

Dear Jefferson classmates,

I have been sorting through old pictures... again... and came
across two you all may like.

Re: First is a Christmas picture of Mrs. Warren's Ktgn Class
http://AlumniSandstorm.com/Xtra/Wat/191118-63Jeff00Kxmas.jpg

Although I can't put names on every face, I recognize
several... and I am amazed again that we still see each
other at reunions and are friends!

	{Same as this pic?
 	http://rhs63.tripod.com/63Jeff00Kxmas-Warren.html
Looks like the same tree and wall decorations...
but completely different set of kids. Maybe one
morning class and one afternoon class? -Maren]

Re: Now the second picture is a little more problematic...

I think it must be third grade (Mrs. Viola Price)... we are
obviously studying native Americans... but hoping we don't
get in trouble for wearing "brown face"... It wasn't our
fault! Hail Hail to Jefferson!

Re: Medal of Honor Winner

OK, I'll brag. Yesterday my son, James Cleavenger, received
the Medal of Honor award from the Oregon Peace Officers
Association. They gave out some 80 awards on Friday night
for the past year. The Medal of Honor is their highest award.
They gave just 2 teams and 2 individuals this award.

James is a policeman and an attorney in Oakridge, Oregon.
In February, he singlehandedly took down a knife wielding
murderer, saving the life of an elderly woman (and probably
her husband). And he did not use a gun or a taser. The knife
ended up impaled in the wall. While I am very proud of him, I
also love him, and would prefer that he was ON the Bench
rather than in front of it!
