Located in Maud, TX. They take men AND women vets. Check them out if you know someone suffering from it on the net and Facebook. Matt Fisk is the director. He wrote the book "Black Knights Dark Days" about their 'adventures' in Sadr City, Iraq. There was a documentary on T.V. about it. NO drugs or alcohol are allowed. Women with children are accepted. Cost is according to ability to pay and everything is included... housing, food, clothing, medical, counseling and even some re-training. -Sara Ousley, aka Ann BISHOP ('56) ~ Texarkana TX ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Floyd MELTON ('57) To: David RIVERS ('65) Thank you, David, for giving us that update on your condition. [who needs a dictionary? Google it. -Maren] To: Pete BEAULIEU ('62) Nice composition, if a bit limp in the scansion (again, thanks to Mrs. Cottrill for teaching us that word that sticks in the memory despite almost never needing to employ it since then). I'd attempt a rejoinder, since I attended WSU for 3 semesters then completed my degree at UW after four years of US Air Force - maybe another day - but my blower needs attention from professionals so I can finish the leaf- clearing project. I received the replacement part yesterday, but the drive shaft on which it mounts requires a five-sided rod - which, of course, I don't have - to hold it in place while unscrewing the nut. Since I already have too many single-use tools for which I'll never have need again, I'm giving up on this one. Why couldn't they have designed it for a common-sized hex-wrench, of which nearly everyone has multiple sets? That would have made it a ½ hour repair. That almost overcomes my inclination to believe that no one would intentionally design something that the normal user, no matter how handy, could fix with ordinary tools. I considered using pliers to hold the shaft but didn't want to take a chance on damaging the shaft with the teeth. Perhaps I should bring this concern to the attention of Troy-Bilt? I never cease to be amazed at the depth and breadth of the knowledge that the readers of the Sandstorm can provide. If anyone is interested, I can tell them how to not get rid of moles or why one shouldn't plant bamboo in their yard. -jimbeaux -Jim HAMILTON ('63) ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Keith HUNTER ('63) Greetings from Rome, Athens. 'Tis your birthday, beginning at dawn. Lotsa nice thoughts coming your way-- All true and well meant, sure as shootin'. But never forget this, Sir, on the subject of friendship... When we were in 8th grade, and very close friends, we would either of us have strangled the other for the mere CHANCE of a date with Laura Parker. Strangled and left buried in a shallow grave and never looked back. Except maybe on days like today, when it's your birthday and I'm sincerely overwhelmed with gratitude that you ARE, in fact, still alive and kicking, in your very particular David Rivers manner. So just keep it up, ol' friend. I'm counting on you. Terry ================== Re: It's A Wonderful Life! Okay, it's finally time.
