That seems to be a regular for people in my age group. I used to fall on ice from time to time but never from pure carelessness. I have taken three this year. The last one being the most damaging! I was teetering on a 1 foot stool, nothing to hang on to trying to put our Scrabble Game in the top of the closet. The stool started wobbling and over I went backwards. I went to Emergency as I could tell something was wrong. Concussion! And I am still having problems from it. I don't know if you ever totally recover. We have neighbors in their 90s and 100s. These Scandinavians live forever. They were farmers and drink lots of milk. I got to use that on my granddaughter the other day as the 90 year olds fall quite often. The other day head first down the stairs. No, no broken bones. So I pointed this out to my granddaughter who had recently decided not to drink milk anymore as she doesn't like the taste. I talked her into putting a little chocolate in it, she is and Gammie is happy! Sounds as though they did everything they could. Too bad that the CT scan wasn't performed right away. This does give us all pause to be more aware of the aftermath of a fall as we get older. We don't think anything of it if it doesn't hurt much and you can move around. You would think everything is fine. I'm glad you can be there for your son now. -Carol CONVERSE Maurer (Magic Class of '64) ~ Kennewick ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Terry DAVIS Knox ('65) Re: It's A Wonderful Life ~ 2nd Weekend!! http://AlumniSandstorm.com/Xtra/Dav/191203-IWL_poster.jpg The little girl who sat there wide-eyed in the front row is Kate, the 6 year-old daughter of Megan Johnson, the wonderful actress playing Michael Thomas's '87' wife in our show. She came two nights in a row, Kate did, and sat next to her grandmother both shows, staring at me from her chair right there in front of me. Because I am "Clarence" the angel, you see. Whenever her mother would kiss Michael Thomas, she'd cover her eyes with both hands. After the shows, we stand at the large doors and hand out little colored bells to people as they leave. On Saturday night, when "Clarence" handed Katie her red bell, (her second), she grabbed hold of his coatsleeve and wouldn't let go. Pretty neat stuff.
