Re: Curt DONAHUE ('53)

I tried to send an entry to the Sandstorm about Curt but it
was bounced! He is home, still can't walk, but he can talk!
He called me yesterday.

So it's about this same time every year when Walgreens
rolls out their back to school supplies and marks down the
Valentine candy that I realize a truly special event is on
the morrow. I'm not talking about the fluff that everyone
already knows, December 6th is so much more than just
National Pawnbrokers Day, National Microwave Oven Day and
National Gazpacho Day. And it's only a coincidence that
this year, 12/6 is falling on the first Friday in December,
National Bartenders Day. True, Roy Orbison joined the Choir
Eternal on December 6th, some 31 years ago, but we're here
to talk about some brighter luminaries from the Gold Medal
Class of '63.

On December 6th, the 340th day of 2019, we will tip off the
three day Fiesta, celebrating the "6-7-8 Club". LaMont "The
Boy Who Knows No Winter" DeJONG ('63) will celebrate wearing
one epically garish Hawaiian print flannel shirt on today the
6th, Jim HOUSE ('63) will be lighting up the candles instead
of the nets on Saturday the 7th and last but not least Anita
CLEAVER Heiling ('63) will wrap up the long weekend with her
75th on Sunday the 8th, with a wine glass in hand with a
plate of complimenting cheeses and olives.

Happy Birthday to each and everyone, and to many, many more.

Re: Merry Christmas

Best wishes everyone. Try not to stress out too much. It
isn't about the stuff.

We're having a nice mild day. Shouldn't get too cold for a
few days (maybe a sprinkle). It will be good for church's
live nativity. The costumes were moved to the fellowship
hall and the animals will be here Saturday and Sunday.

Sandstorm went to **** again two days in a row. Had been only
occasionally. Grrr. Don't know why the servers do this.

Maren hope you continue to heal. Will send $$s soon.

Re: Favorite Son

Jim MATTIS ('68), gave a motivational speech in Dallas, TX
today with close to 1000 in attendance. It will be on NPR
and David Reubenstien's show as well.
