Re: Who Knows. I have no idea what I am going to say?

Well it has now been 38 days I have suffered diarrhea. I did have a 2 day
respite a week ago. I take Lomotil like tic tacs and while at first it showed
promise, that turned out to be a false illusion. Cause is still unknown. (I
think it is just a natural rebuke of all politicians) But no matter how hard I
try, I can not get rid of them. The two day break I had was apparently as false
as a politician's promise! Only it lasted longer! Perhaps it was because I was
so weakened by the ordeal, I was so tired. really pooped out so to speak! Or
just a chance to recharge my discharge. Rose, my caretaker says I have a
really flushed expression

This week I shall visit Dr. Strangelove, a de-frocked proctologist and former
bus-boy at a greek restaurant. I think I am beginning fall in love with him.
(or famillerity becomes habit)

I have lost weight so in the true sense of the meaning, I am WASTING AWAY!
well That is better than my first thought that I was melting!

two cats buring and two cats seeking new territory!
(ps) have you ever had a cat try to bury you! Just a random thought

Before I forgets it, here's a "Happy Birthday!" to Terry DeVINE ('52). He just
may be living proof of some axiom, but I'm not sure which one.

SENT: 12/1/22

Wishing fellow classmate Pat NORDMAN *'54) a "Happy Birthday!"

To Terry DAVIS ('65): Even with the beard, you don't look like Edmund Gwinn.
Probably don't have the Brit accent to go along with. So, "Break a leg!"

Re: Spudnuts

Talking about Spudnuts, I sure wish I had a couple right now.. (sigh?.)

The post from Jan BOOTH ('54) reminded me of my time back in the '50s I had a
paper route delivering the Tri City Herold in what is now West Richland, but
then it was mostly Enterprise.

Anyway, one customer on my route had some pigs. Close to the pig shed were from
time to time a few bags of day old doughnuts. I assumed then as I do now they
were from the Spudnut shop.

When I saw the bags I'd ride my bike up to them and line my handle bars with
glazed doughnuts.

From there I'd munch till I got home and share leftovers with my brother.

I must admit though, the doughnuts had to be bigger back then to slide easily
onto the handlebars.

I know the doughnuts I see today would never fit.

I was back to a reunion in 2014 I think it was and a couple times since. The
first time I was able to meet Maren and enjoyed a couple Spudnuts.

The other couple times I had planned on getting 2-3 dozen to take home but the
timing was bad?!! The Spudnut shop was closed.

My chances of getting a Spudnut anymore are slim to none?

I was so happy to see the most recent Sandstorm in my e-mail box this am.
Maren, I admire your grit in continuing to deal with putting our treasured
Sandstorm together for us to read.

I wish Linda REINING ('64) happiness in Missouri,

To: Rex HUNT ('53wb)

If your son is the same one who travels so much, I can see why you don't go
live with him.

Hard to believe another Christmas is almost here, and except for our cold
weather, it doesn't seem possible it's Christmas again.

Terry DAVIS ('65) are you going to be in the Christmas play? I finally did make
it to a Richland Players performance again, the one about "Trailirtrash" last
September, but it was one of the performances you didn't do. I could tell you
would have loved performing your part.

It was really fun to see so many old friends at our class of '62 reunion, my,
we are getting old.

And we do want to thank our Reunion Committee for putting it and all our
reunions over the years, which have flown by, together.

I'm finally cleaning out some old boxes of things, including Christmas cards
which I saved for making a placemat craft at Sunday School or youth group at
church.

I was rereading the cards. I have had a lot of cards from Sue ELLIOTT Crumb
Homan, Cathy WOOD Stevens, and Carol RICE Humphrey Forister (which I will save,
since she has been gone since 2015) and Carole JOHNSTON Berg (all '62). I was
very surprized I even found some cards from Henry PARKER (Hank PARKER or was in
the early '90s)-also ('62).

But I have to get rid of lots of memories Kia, as my kids don't want it, I'm
sure.

To: Rex HUNT (?53)

In your submittal of 11-02 (posted 11-30), you agonize over whether your use of
?again? is hanging out there as a dangling preposition.

Fear not! ?Against? is a preposition, but ?again? is not. You have not violated
a treasured protocol of the king?s English. Or as Professor Henry Higgins (Rex
Harrison) says in ?My Fair Lady:? ?English?in America, they haven?t spoken it
for years.?

In an earlier posting I lamented that, in an awaited 8th-grade English class
competition, I had not been permitted to spout off 35 memorized prepositions,
alphabetically?and in seven seconds. Well, upon recitation I find that the list
is only 34, and that the last two are out of sequence. I had skipped those two
and had to caboose them at the end?more dangling prepositions!

Here, for possible future reference, is the list:

?About, above, across, after, against, along, among, around, at, before,
beneath, between, beyond, by, down, for, from, in, into, near, of, off, on,
over, through, to, toward, under, until, upon, up, with, past, beside!?

As a matter of historical interest, not politics, I also must remark on your
remark about the honesty of President Carter. Yes, an honest man, and a great
humanitarian, but arguably the second-worst president in United States history.
And, a bit confused. During a fairly recent interview, maybe five years ago, I
heard him taking credit for ending the Soviet invasion in Afghanistan (1980-89)
by authorizing use of effective American anti-aircraft weapons. The reference
is to handheld Stinger missiles which could take down the lethal Russian
helicopter gunships. Stingers were authorized by President Reagan in 1986, over
five years after Carter left office. (Maren: as I say, a historical comment,
not political.)

SENT: I don't know when

Note from Maren: Well, I lost tne entry from Nancy that came in the first part
of (maybe) November. So this is kind of from memory -- which ain't so hot these
days anyway.

AS I RECALL, Nancy said that her brother, David ('64) was hit by a car while
walking and was in the hospital. After a hospital stay, he was sent to rehapb.

The probblem is that David lives in a 2nd floor apartment (and has for 40 some
odd years), but now he's gonna need to move to a ground floor apartmet. His
sister, Karen ('71) lives in Kennewick and is trying to help him, but they need
some Bomber help to get David moved...

This came from Nancy on 12/12/22: Karen (our sister -- she
lives in Kennewick) has been having a lot of trouble. She has
been unable to find a new place for him. And then there is
the problem of getting him moved. She needs help (physical or
some leads to resources). It would be great if word could go out
to Bombers about this -- maybe one of them has access to help."

Set: 5/23/22

In my imagination (apparently) I thought I sent in an entry. Guess not. So
here is one.

Went (on Fri. 13th) to my niece's law school graduation. Wow!

Still not sure what season we are in -- 90s for a few days then 60 or so.
Plenty of rain. Would like to have some spring --which we seem to keep
skipping. Not ready for hot, humid weather -- yuk.

Sure would like to come to the '64 event later this year, but is very unlikely.
Maybe my brother, David ('64) will make it. He is not on social media. so he
would need snail mail info.

Will spend a weekend at my daughter's place to celebrate my grandson's B'day.

Sure do enjoy the SS. Thanks Maren for all the work you do on it.

SENT: 8/5/22

After ever so many days of heat advisories and warnings (heat index in the
triple digits) it started the day in the 80s (almost needed a jacket except it
was humid) phone says it is 75 and raining -- a soaking rain. There has been
some rain here (W TN) lately but sporadic. Parts of my lawn look dead and other
parts are getting shaggy. Hope we can mow next week. Need my son and he's not
off til then.

Talked to my sister in Kennewick last Saturday and she said it was 111°. Saw on
facebook today they may be having smoke from fires. My brother is harder to
reach and he's not on social media. Hope he can come to the '64 'b'day bash.

Schools have started (at least teachers are back) in this part of the state. So
hot for that.

Sure to enjoy when the SS comes out! Thanks Maren!!!
