Margene entered the hands of the Lord on October 17th, 2009. Margene was born on July 3rd, 1939, in Gettysburg, SD. She was the second of three children born to Marie and August Mallow. At the age of 5, Margene and her family moved to Richland. She is a 1958 graduate of Columbia High School and owned and operated The Beauty Parlour for 35 years.

Margene was involved in many activities. She was a longtime member of the National Cosmetology Association, holding positions such as president, delegate and secretary. She also participated in the local Republican Convention. She was a long-standing member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Margene had a unique spirit and enjoyed living life to the fullest. She had a witty sense of humor that could make anyone smile. She was devout in her faith and believed in the word of the Lord.

Margene loved her family and adored being with them. She was extremely close to her two nieces, spoiling them as if they were her own. She took pride in being Mike's older sister. Margene had many friends that she deeply cherished.

Margene's passing leaves a hole behind that can only be filled by all the wonderful memories and joyous stories that can be told about her. She will be greatly missed. She had touched the lives of so many, leaving a lasting impression. Put simply she lived, she laughed, she loved.

Margene is proceeded in death by her loving parents, August and Marie, and brother, Richard.

She is survived by her brother, Michael J. Mallow of Benton City; nieces, Michelle Scott of Vancouver, WA, and Shannon Mallow of Kennewick. She is also survived by aunts and uncles and many cousins. And special friends Bobbi Mallow and Rosemary Thomas.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to our cousin Marcia Garrett. She truly was an angel and unbelievable caretaker during Margene's time of need. In addition, we would like to thank the wonderful staff of Hospice House in Kennewick. They provided excellent care with amazing compassion.

A rosary will be held on October 31st, 2009, at 12:30 p.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church in Richland, WA, with a funeral following at 1 p.m. Graveside burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you give donations to the Hospice House in Kennewick, WA.
