Harold (Bob) Barott passed away quietly on October 31, 2012, at home with his family. Bob was born July 5, 1932, in McGregor, MN, to Harold J. and Alice Barott. In 1948, the family moved to West Richland where he met and married Doris "Dode" Hackney ('52) on June 14, 1952. He worked with his father moving houses, for General Electric and Energy Northwest as a mechanic at HGP and Columbia Generating Station.

After retiring in 1992, Bob and Dode enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. He also loved working in his shop and was known to his family as "Mr. Fix It."

Survivors include his wife of 60 years Doris and children: Linda Barott ('71) Rodriguez (David), Jody Barott ('73) Mangold (Bill), Kathy Kilfoil (Charlie), Jay Barott (Janet) and Chuck Harrington. He loved his grandchildren: Angela (Stacey), Teresa, Joe (Charlene), Nick (Melissa), Kirby, Shelley, Jarrod, Shannon (Jesse), Heather, Andrew, Josh, and Jason. He leaves five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Weston, Connor, Hannah, and Emma, and many special nephews, nieces, and friends to mourn his loss. He is salso urvived by his siblings: Phyllis Randa, Jim Barott (Agnes), Lucille Bentley (Kenny), Dale Hendrickson (Marian) and Duffy Ringstad (Jean).

He was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law John and Lois Werner, brothers-in-law Ed Randa and Red Stephens, and two infant grandsons Kyle and Bucky.

A celebration of his life will be held November 10, 2012, at Northwest United Protestant Church, 1312 Sacramento, Richland, at 2pm. Reception to follow in fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his name can be given to American Cancer Society, Tri-City Hospice at the Chaplaincy or charity of your choice.
