FREDERICK ALBERT "FRED" GEIGER ~ Class of 1964
September 11, 1945 - July 14, 1998
~
From Delores GEIGER Glass ('59 honorary) in 2013:
My brother, Frederick Albert "Fred" GEIGER, was a '64 Columbia
High graduate who attended Lewis and Clark Elementary and Chief Jo
Junior High. Fred was born in Richland on September 11, 1945, and
passed away from complications of diabetes on July 14, 1998, in
Medford, OR.
Fred was buried in Williams, OR, alongside his parents, Florence
and Delos Geiger, who both retired after working 25 years for
General Electric, Douglas United Nuclear and Battelle. His
brother, Charles (who accidently died at age 13 in 1956), and
other family members are also buried alongside Fred.
He and his wife, Verla, had two sons, Steven and Nathan, and a
daughter, Kelly, when they resided in Seattle. Fred worked for
Boeing for a short while and then for his father-in-law, as a
journeyman electrician. He became an electrical contractor and
trained both of his sons in the trade. All of his children are now
grown and have children of their own, residing in Montana and
Arizona.
Fred shared his interest in theology with his family and was able
to visit Israel with his mother, wife and two sisters, Rosalie
GEIGER Hughes ('57) and Delores GEIGER Glass ('59wb), before his
passing.
His sister, Rosalie , died in 2013.
File put together by Shirley COLLINGS Haskins ('66).
