Kenneth R. "Ken" Tomlinson was born March 26, 1948, and passed away on December 22, 1978, in Kennewick from suicide.

Ken Tomlinson was my best friend in middle school (at Carmichael) and one of my best friends in high school (graduating with the class of '66 from Columbia High School.) We kept in touch for a year or so after high school. I last saw him at the library in Richland in the late summer of 1973.

Ken had been working as an orderly in a nursing home in the Tri-Cities. He had been married and divorced.

He is survived by his parents, Roy and Ethel Tomlinson, his brother, Barry TOMLINSON ('60) , and sister, Sue TOMLINSON Yount ('62).

His body was cremated in Sunnyside and arrangements were handled by Mueller's Funeral Home in Kennewick.

It was Barry's experience at Reed College in Portland, relayed to me through Ken, that caused me to apply to Reed in the first place. I graduated from Reed in 1970. I figured that if anybody as smart as Barry was went there, it should be a good college to go to. I was not disappointed.
