NANCY LUTHER ARBUCKLE ~ Class of 1949
December 27, 1930 - March 25, 2005

Nancy Fay Luther Arbuckle, age 74, most recently of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away peacefully Friday, March 25, 2005 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

She was born on December 27, 1930 in Kohler, Wisconsin, the daughter of Adolph and Olive Strassburger Luther. Nancy attended Columbia High School in Richland, Washington, graduating in 1949. She married Jerry Arbuckle in 1955 in Richland.

Nancy worked as a chemical lab technician for several years at the Hanford plant outside of Richland. She continued her work as a chemist after moving to Long Beach, California. When the family moved to Moclips, Washington, Nancy was a full-time mom with four kids. The family eventually moved to the Bad River Reservation in northern Wisconsin, where Nancy's husband grew up. They started a business, Nokomis Smoke Shop, which they operated for several years. In her retirement, Nancy enjoyed being a snowbird to St. Petersburg, Florida, where she loved the warm sunshine. Nancy enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, crossword puzzles, movies, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored.

She will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by her four children and grandchildren: Katherine (Gene) Baerg of Altoona, Wisconsin and their children Nathan and Monica; Laura (Eugene Randolph) Arbuckle of Madison, Wisconsin and their sons Miles, Isaac and Max; Paul (Mary Kay) Arbuckle of Rhinelander, Wisconsin and their daughters Madeline, Hannah and Claire; and Elizabeth (James) Wabindato of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and their daughter Isabella, and one baby on the way. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Luther Wood ('47), and a special cousin, Marion Morey both of Richland, Washington; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a nephew.

Services will be held at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Avenue, on Tuesday, March 29. Visitation is at 1:00 and services will begin at 2:00. She will be laid to rest in a family cemetery plot near her grandparent's farm outside of Kohler.
