Surrounded by his family, Rob , age 65, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015. He was born February 5th, 1950, in Richland to Robert Cyril Murphy, Sr. and Agnes Amelia Van Anne Murphy.
Murph deeply touched everyone he came into contact with. He had a heart of gold and effortlessly built life long bonds and made strong impacts on all of our lives, both family and even strangers. Murph touched everyone who knew him with his affection and passion for life. He loved baseball, music and skiing, but especially cars. We will deeply miss him. We are all better for having known him.
"Murph" served as a Sgt. in the US Army, then he studied at Boise State University. He went on to work as a conductor at the Union Pacific Railroad from which he retired.
He is preceeded in death by his parents, Cyril and Aggie; Aunt Rita Murphy and brother, Patrick Murphy ('66).
He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Jean" Porraz Murphy; three sons: Bennie Porraz, Joseph Porraz, and Sean Murphy; daughter, Christine Murphy-Mellegaard; sisters, Mary Murphy Johnson ('69), and Eileen Murphy Fitch ('74); 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was on August 12, 2015, at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, ID. A memorial service was on August 16, 2015, at Gate City Christian Church in Pocatello, ID.
